And the scripture says "Trust in the lord with all your heart and lean NOT on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge HIM and He will direct your path"...this is because "The HEART is deceitfully wicked above all things, who can trust it". That is also scripture.... Because our flesh was corrupted at the time of genesis 6 and the fallen angels.

After watching the first video and this one, and reading everyone’s comments about Jill saying “like, umm, so yeah”. If you pay enough attention it happens the most when she’s answering questions that her family wouldn’t agree with. Shes doing a fine job. Growth takes time, this includes speech and personality.

If he didn’t want it she wouldn’t have been able to get it. That’s how it works in Duggar world- dad holds the power then the power is transferred to husband. I think it’s important to remember when hearing Jill speak, this is the first time in her life that she’s starting to open up and give her honest opinion on topics that people in her life will judge and chastise her for. She’s only beginning to be comfortable in her own skin and her own views on the way she’s living her life...so I personally believe that she’s nervous. And for good reason. I’m sure that the longer she’s on here sharing her life with us, she will become more comfortable and her speaking will change. If you watch old episodes of _ # of Kids and Counting you will notice that all 4 of the oldest Duggar girls have always used "like" and "um" to a massive extent in their speech patterns. Which I think stems from education at the "Classroom of the Dining Room Table" where they were taught by who else? Queen "like" and "um" herself, Michelle Duggar about the parts of the human eye and not speech or grammar! Except when the TLC cameras weren't trained exclusively on MEEchelle any more, she promptly turned over that chore to who else? The oldest 4 D' Girls. They never got any outside influence on proper speech and grammar because they didn't go to school where those kinds of things are taught and they get graded by an adult who has a college education degree. Which is why Jill is sending her oldest son, Israel, to public school - so the kid can get some frigging interaction with students other than his brother.

Rather than focus on the word “like” I try to listen to the voice you’re trying to express. Derrick did a good job at letting you talk and find your voice. Finding your voice as a grown married woman, having had therapy, become more open to the public. All of this is difficult, and I commend you for speaking your truth...Gods truth through living your life in a biblical way. To help people understand that wearing a dress or pants doesn’t give you salvation, and they shouldn’t focus on that. I’m so glad you’ve found a way to live life in a godly way and be united with your spouse and honor him as well. A good well rounded way to approach marriage and give God glory.

Most people hear "Christian" and think "religion". That's definitely such a closed minded concept (yes, a Christian just called someone closed minded! What a flip, huh?) There's a HUGE difference in legalistic, religious fundamentalists and blood bought, faith filled Christians. True Christianity is relationship...freedom...grace and love. I pray that Jill can honestly find that unconditional love and not a religion of fear.

In our religion family won't shun you but the church will and the gossip is hilarious. I'm so over my church since I was 28, my wedding was the turning point and how we were treated, I still went to church on and off. My late husband wasn't from the same faith. I remarried and this time around my husband is from the same faith but we are both quite aware how controlling the church is. I'm done he is struggling but it is his journey I do not want to influence him into making a decision. The guilt that has been drilled into you is ridiculous and 20 years on I'm still struggling with it, I constantly have to remind myself it was just brainwashing I'm not doomed. It was so strong I still can't get myself to join another church but I do know should I join a church I do not want to be brainwashed into it or staying in it. Our churches opened recently after lockdown and the interesting part is that one of the mainstream churches invited us very friendly no pressure to come and join in a sermon but our church sent us a scolding message to get our asses back into church because your soul is doomed should you miss just one activity and die. 😃

@@honeybunch5765 - I can sympathize. After I left the religion, it took me 15 years before I could even walk through church doors! The guilt & fear of Armageddon paralyzed me! I now attend a nondenominational church, not fear based, instead love & no legalistic man made rules. No one looking over my shoulder ready to disfellowship me if I breathe wrong. Even though I lost my entire family ( 4 generations) and they think of me as dead in their eyes & God’s eyes, I’m still so blessed to find freedom in Christ! In my former religion when you are shunned, it’s forever ( unless you repent & go crawling back) which will never happen.. I committed no sin to repent from.. I just left it! I won’t even be notified when family members pass away!! They even take down your photos, never to be looked at again!! NOT Christian! I’m finally starting to get over the brainwashing.. it’s taken MANY years & trying to live a more normal life has been a struggle.. my religion doesn’t celebrate any holidays & there was no outside influences, no politics, no outside friends, every aspect of life was controlled by the leaders. I had to “learn” everything from scratch & the guilt was horrible, plus nightmares of being destroyed at Armageddon!! These religious cults absolutely destroy people’s lives!! I wish you happiness on your new journey 🙏🏼🎚

@@thrivingexjw2061 Wow I admire you so much for having so much joy despite the losses you've suffered. I grew up as a baptist and when I met my fiance he introduced me to the Messianic Jewish faith which is basically like a Jews for Jesus type thing. We believe in Jesus still, but also believe in observing the Torah. This has caused so much turmoil for me in my family. I no longer eat pork and shellfish and that clearly makes my bacon-loving parents so uncomfortable. (They are contantly "forgetting" what I eat and don't eat, put pork in the meatloaf and stuff like that, "are you suuuuree you can't work on saturday? We need your help with the family business." etc. Just acting like this is just a phase for me and that it isnt important. I no longer attend church with my parents. My eyes have been opened too much. My nana told me I was turning my back on my faith and destroying the family and those things really hurt. I can relate so much to Jill and her family's pushback in trying to live her own life. Ultimately, you just have to do what's right for you, your family, and your faith in God.

Find something more constructive to do with your time. Secondly, who cares if she says 'like'. I used to say 'like' a lot because I was very insecure and uncertain of myself due to my own toxic upbringing..it took me years to finally trust tge Lord to heal me from my own trauma. There are reasons ppl are they way they are. Ppl often accuse christians of being critical but some of you who are unbelievers, and Professing 'believers' are some of the most judgemental lot and it is telling. Lots of people in the comments judging the way she speaks is a little gross. "Like" is a very commonly used word as an in between. She's hardly doing anything upsetting especially since they are having a natural conversation. If you have an issue with the way someone speaks perhaps do not watch them speak then?? Who would have thought?

Jill, I totally admire you for becoming your own person by wearing pants, getting a piercing, cutting your hair, having your own style. It has not affected you as a Christian or your faith. You still share your faith openly and there is nothing wrong with wearing pants. Most Christian women do wear pants. I just watched the video of your wedding. Oh what a beautiful wedding! I loved the music, and oh, how amazingly relaxed you both were! That was such a wonderful ceremony, and truly blessed by God!

Good for you both establishing your own boundaries togerher as a couple regardless of everyones opinion. I'm a pastors daughter from Alabama and struggled alot with finding myself. I met my husband and we eventually got an rv and now travel the USA with our two daughters. I had to leave the south to get away from past trauma. As an adult not being under control of anyone else is freedom.

Not sure why people have to be unkind regarding the way that Jill is speaking, she is just fine in the way she speaks. We are to be kind and loving towards our brethren, this is a Christ-like attribute that we all should have. Just remember that all of our thoughts and our words that are spoken are being recorded in the books of heaven. Regarding tattoos: Leviticus 19:28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.

I love this Jill was always my favorite Duggar (besides Amy) and I could not be happier to see her break free and stay true to herself despite towing the family line might have been easier most days! And the fact that Derrick is his own man and will not be bullied and intimidated into doing things the way “family” members prefer it! There are certain Duggar “spouses “ that are so easily led and manipulated to follow “dads” dictates without question. So happy for Jill and Derrick and they are so admirable!

HI 🙋🏻‍♀️ JILL && Derrick, I can also relate to you guys. I was raised by a strict parent and them being Pentecostal as child.. I only wore dresses and skirts and my hair as very long. When I got married, my husband and I asked God for guidance and to teach us as a couple to grow. After I turned 30, I finally had gotten a nose ring and then at 40 I decided to do a tattoo which is the names of my kids on my ankle as an ankle bracelet. I also ware pants but I’m always dress kind of conservative with my shirts. And I still go to church, read the Bible every day and pray. After so many years my parents finally accepted me the way I am.. So I can relate to you guys... And I’m proud for you moving forward as a couple and a family! You guys will grow with God’s love and blessing. Thank you! Because I also haven’t changed and I’m 59 years old. And I believe in God the father all mighty! Praise God! Beautiful family!

Just by the way you support Jill, the way you look at her and the way that you support her decisions and her right to have her own opinion. Also....Jill. Do not listen to these people hurling insults for saying like too much. This is the 1st time you've ever been allowed to have a voice, an opinion and not under your families rule. First time I ever wore pants was at a movie theater, right after I graduated high school. I was mortified because I saw someone I knew from church 🤣 I think it’s admirable that you seem to have grown in your faith rather than just leave it as many do when they grow up and find that their opinions differ a little with their parents, etc. People love to tear apart their parents and the faith, but it’s important to have forgiveness in your heart and also realize that your parents were just growing and learning as they went.

Life is about growth, learning, loving those around you. God will direct your path. I am not into nose rings and tattoos, but these things do not make a Christian. My daughter got both and it doesn’t really matter to me. She has to explore who she is and I love her just the way she is. She is my daughter, no matter what. What is important to me is my relationship with her and my heart is comforted by her relationship with God. There are a few levels of decisions in life. Decisions about your relationship with God. Moral decisions. Decisions of preference. You are walking your walk with God. That is what is important. When I was 16, I left the Mormon church, the religion of my family. The Bible became a new revelations to me and my growth changed greatly as I grew in my 20s. My understanding of God’s word has greatly changed over the last few decades.Keep digging!! So glad you are seeking wise council. These separations are growth changes. It doesn’t mean your relationship with your family is dead, but different. My family disowned me, but I spent 30 years trying to continue to love them and reach out, yes, it has been messy... and there is still a chasm. Yet, God fills the gap.

I got my first (and only) tattoo 2 weeks after my mom died. It says "Love Always" in her handwriting on my forearm and it reminds me every single day that her love is not gone just because she is no longer with me on earth. It also reminds me of God's eternal love and that thanks to what Jesus did on the cross, we will be reunited one fine day. P.S. On a pain scale of 1-10, mine was barely a 1. Getting my ears pierced was so much worse.

Hopefully most people before going into a conversation can show intelligent language skills. “like is lazy slang and people should want to sound intelligent when speaking with others.

I cant think of one degree where public speaking 101 was not required. It is a general studies course and is a prerequisite for everyone who furthers their education. Considering that none of these kids have had a formal education and were home schooled, i dont think many of them went to college to get a degree. This was one of the 1st classes i took in college just to get it out of the way. Even though she is in front of a camera, she knows she is speaking to 1000s so it doesnt make it any easier. I admit. It was a little annoying, but i finished listening and cut her some slack because i know she never had any formal training to speak.
