Ma'am you're a lifesaver. My mom, dad & big bro are sick & I wanted to cook khichdi for them. I'm a novice cook hence had no idea how to cook khichdi. This video surely gave me much needed direction towards cooking for them. I'll let you know how the khichdi turns out. Thanks again.

I have read somewhere that the soaked water should be discarded.otherwise it defeats the purpose of soaking.that water doesn't allow protein to be absorbed easily.

Followed the recipe. Took measurements from the description box. Turned out extremely fluid. Later realised she wrote the measurements wrong in the description

Daal mung. 1/2 cup. 65 grms. Rice. 1/2 cups Soak in water 15 min.. very important for nutrition.. Rub and drain water and strain to get rid of starch . In a pressure cooker add. Desi ghee 1 tsp. Important for vitamin D. Heat. Zeera. Add and cook . Then add to the ghee Red chilli whole 2. Salt . Haldi Daal and rice . Cook.

Black pepper Ginger and Curry leaves to be added.cashew nuts fried in ghee may also be added.the consistency shd not be loose.

It tastes yummy.. thank you for sch a easy n delicious plus healthy recipe,made with very basic ingredients, I added Onion , Tomato and daniya powder as I loved these 3 things in almost all the salty recipes. Also, I used brown rice to make it much more healthier . Else was same . Lastly, I loved your way of telling.. so professional and decent 😊

While its good to soak dal to avoid flatulence,single polish rice should be just washed twice and soaked in the water you use to cook.straining removes nutrients from it.

Thanx for the recipe... my khichdi never turn out perfect... sometimes loose consistency sometimes hard... but now I m clear abt the measurement... always look forward for your recipes .. Also .. please update recipes or suggestions for curing piles... one of my friend is suffering from it... if we can cure it with modification in diet.. Thanx a ton..

Hi Maam, I am a working lady, and this recipe definitely suits me as it is fast to make and easy to digest. However, my problem is that I reach home only by 8-8:30 PM and you have advised to have dinner latest by 7:30 PM. What do I do as I need to lose weight? Thanks!

When I soak daal..doesnt matter which one... it takes me 5 to 6 hours to cook the daal. While cooking it without soaking it cooks quickly.. how comes? I cook without cooker. Im from Amsterdam. Hope someone has the answer. Thank you

Anushka Premchand because you need a pressure cooker. its very important to quick the dal wayy faster :)

Masoor , moong, white udad dal takes 20 min to cook fully without cooker after soaking these dal for 30min.. Black masoor and yellow toowar ( Arhar Dal ) need presure cooker to cook nicely after soaking up them for 30min to 1hour for best . Dal doesn't take 5 to 6 hours to cook, Please cheak out the way of your making style as you might be making some of mistakes which taking alot of time for cooking your dal. Hope this will help you.

I soak the dal for an hour atleast and cook on a cooker. A cooker makes cooking a lot of food easier. Get a cooker to make cooking easier

Ideally any dal shouldn't take so much time to cook dal. Please make sure to add enough water, Don't add salt in dal while cooking, cover your vessel and keep some water on it, and cook it on medium flame

Tq nisha ji, earlier we use to just wash and drain now we understood the benefit of soaking grains. Also use of ghee properly. Tq for your detailed explanation. I have done it. It's very tasty n healthy , more nutritious too . Tq nisha ji 🙏
