Hi....so far have watched all the videos and stripped my ER 5 1A down and about to remove the engine. Regarding the radiator, what is the top right outlet for (viewing from the rear)..on mine, it was blanked off and on part number 39192 which is the pipework to the rad cap, a small spigot outlet on mine is blanked off...what is that for and is it important. Thank you for all your info todate which has encouraged me to start this project.

Very nice video series. But I have one question. Today I looked at a Kawasaki ER 5 Twister from 2000 and the clutch lever felt very loose. You could easily move it up an down for one or two centimeters. Is this a sign of usage or ist this normal? I is there a way to tighten the lever so that it only moves back and forth but not up and down? And do you have a video with more information about the handlebar and the levers? Thank you very much for your videos! They are great! And sorry for so many questions. :D

Hello. I became the owner of a 2003 Kawasaki er5. I wonder if you can explain to me what these positions on the fuel tap mean, RES PRI ON (OFF does not exist). And when which position should I use? Thanks in advance.
@dirtygarageguy4 жыл бұрын
ON - means the tank will drain down until the RES limit. RES - Reservoir. Once the tank is empty in the ON position switching to RES means you have about 3 - 4 litres before totally empty - this is to get you to the nearest station. Remember to switch it back to ON once you've fuelled up. PRI - Is Prime. This allows fuel out of the tank to prime the carbs.
@radivojemadzarevic29544 жыл бұрын
I switched positions to ON. That's how I'm going to leave. I'll just switch to RES if I need to. I read that the problem can be caused by the fuel tap, some tires go off and so the fuel can flow into the crankcase. Now, do you know what about that, what I need to do about it, so that it doesn't happen to me. May I insert another vacuum pump next to this faucet to be safe without interfering with engine operation? If you can answer me, thanks!
@dirtygarageguy4 жыл бұрын
Thats wrong and people are idiots. If the fuel starts filling the cylinders that's because the float needle is knackered
@radivojemadzarevic29544 жыл бұрын
@@dirtygarageguy So even if those tires are bad on the faucet and if the faucet leaks fuel when the engine is not running, that fuel can't go beyond the carburetor if those float pins are OK? If I understand you. 😀

Hi i am also building my own scrambler out of a ER5, u just replaced the carbu air filter with 2 small airfilters. I realised i had to change the needles and jets. But i lack knowledge... i am not a mechanical. Can u help me with what needles and jets i should go, so it runs smoother again?
@dirtygarageguy4 жыл бұрын
This is something you need to do by trial and error - best thing is to buy a jet kit used in dirtbikes - it'sa box with a few different sizes
@florianvanrompay54064 жыл бұрын
The Workshop thanks for the reply, so only try it with different sizes of jets first?
@dirtygarageguy4 жыл бұрын
Well no. See how it runs first, then try messing around with the air/fuel screws. It's a great oppotunity to learn.
@florianvanrompay54064 жыл бұрын
The Workshop one more thaaang, sorry for bothering... but the standard jet is 0,78mm now with the 2 individual air filters on the carburetor, what size i should try first?
