I had a heart transplant 7 weeks ago and applied within a week. I wish I would have saw this beforehand.

I hope you're recovering well from your heart transplant. It's great that you've already applied for disability benefits. While the timing of your application is important, what matters most is the evidence you provide about your condition and its impact on your ability to work. I have been on disability since 2016, I'm turning 65 years old in March, my question is do I change to social security? I have called many times and I still being told that everything is fine, however I have more deductions for part D from my check and I have to pay for medication that was covered.

When you turn 65, your disability benefits automatically convert to Social Security retirement benefits, with no change in amount. The extra deductions for Part D and medication costs could be due to changes in your Medicare plan. Reviewing your plan during open enrollment or consulting a Medicare counselor might help.

Also i found an RX from a doctor after suffering a tragedy in 08. He said that basically i cant work and it is an ongoing issue. Obviously i did work again and it was hard but does this have any weight? Wonder if i could have applied back then? At this time ive already worked almost 40 years.

Your doctor's prescription from 2008 could potentially support your case, but the Social Security Administration will primarily focus on your current ability to work and recent medical records. It's hard to say if you could have applied back then, but the key is to show how your condition currently limits your work ability. Is it bad if you end up not going for their exams with their doctors? Ive heard terrible things about them and id rather spare my sanity.😑

Attending the Social Security Administration's medical exams is crucial for your application. These exams provide evidence of your disability. Skipping them could negatively impact your case. I understand your concerns, but remember, these exams are part of the process. For tips on maximizing your Disability Exam, visit: www.thedisabilitydigest.com/tipsforyourdisabilityexam/.
