I had never tried any of the veggie meats until 3 years ago. My wife purchased a package of "Blackened" veggie burgers & they sat in the freezer for 6 months. I was going to toss them in the trash, but decided to grill 4 of them and I'm glad that I did. I was surprised after putting everything on them that I like with a mean burger and they tasted great. I still love real meats, but I have now tried more than a dozen veggie meat products and I love them all. Including the burger crumbles. You can spice all of these up like you do to real meat in anyway that you want. Shalom

To be fair, they are still hit or miss for me. Some are really great, some really aren't. So you do need to know which one to pick. But the same goes for meat burgers. Those from a butchershop are always better than those deep-frozen ones.

Most of them are filled with oil, unseasoned properly, and lots of unneeded ingredients. And do you have any basis to your claim that meat burgers are statistically better than veggie, bc I've always seen the other way around.

Yeah veggie and even meat burgers are sometimes a bit dry when cooking frozen ones. It's best to let them either thaw just a little bit, cook them with sauces, or lots of oil.

It's not very commonly known that this stuff will kill you. Everything is oxidized. Especially the safflower oil will go really bad during this processing, it will polymerize.

Just a PSA for people that don't know a lot about vegetarianism/veganism, or don't have any vegetarian/vegan friends: many vegetarian/vegan people adopt these diets not because they dislike meat, but because the current way the meat industry is structured is bad for the environment. I'm not vegan nor vegetarian, but the vegetarians I know still like meat, they just choose not to eat it.

So what do they think about the coal power or nuclear power plants that produce the electricity for these massive energy consuming veggie burger factories? Is that any better for the environment. And before anyone mentions the methane produced by cows; remember veggies give you gas. So there would be just as many vegetarian/vegans farting up some serious methane clouds. I'm not being factious, I just genuinely don't understand that kind of thought process. I can understand if it was for health reasons. But at the end of the day everything we do has an impact on the environment to some degree.

some people who don't eat meat actually do like meat- there's a lot of reasons they might not want to. (i'm also not shaming at all, you can eat whatever you want) but some people aren't comfortable with factory meats. even if they are 100% okay with other people around them eating that kind of food, they can feel some form of guilt, but if they've had good tasting meat before they can end up craving it later on. or people might develop some kind of intolerance toward meat, making it painful to eat it, but they still want a meat flavor.

The use of PFOA in the manufacturing of Teflon-coated cookware has been completely stopped. But, even when PFOA is used, it poses little or no harm to your health. Teflon on its own is safe and can't harm you when you ingest it.

Yes but with these, you’re directly eating what they’re eating. When it comes to food chains, you lose 90% of caloric energy with every tier of the food chain. And you can only eat a certain percentage of the cow, definitely below 50%. I don’t know what the industry does with the organs or skeleton.

It all looks like food to me, if you know the cuts of meat you can look at any animal and know what is actually good to eat. If your meat looks like it does in this video, that's not food quality but feed quality.
