The allergy death absolutely terrifies me. My son has several severe allergies and any time we try any new food, even if it's labelled as safe, it's always a stressful time. "What if there was cross contamination?" "What if one of the 'natural flavors' includes one of the allergens?" I can't imagine the stress and guilt of verifying over and over and getting multiple confirmations just to have it happen anyway.
@anonthe-third23672 ай бұрын
At that point I would HAVE to bring my own self prepared food wherever I go :( I wish nothing bit the best for your son and your family
@BasedRanger18 күн бұрын
Cross contamination is a big one. I'm severely allergic to avocado, and with it being a very common ingredient in sushi restaurants, I always insist on the chef using a completely clean knife, cutting board, and fresh gloves. I also try to go to sushi bars where I can actually sit at the bartop to watch it being made. I always feel sorta bad for being so insistent, but it's sort of a matter of continuing to breathe, so.. Probably worth it. Heck, even with all of that, I still once had a server outright forget/ignore it - Thank God, my husband took the first piece off of the sushi roll and realized it had hidden chunks of avocado in it. Pretty sure that was the only time where I've ever full on complained to somebody's manager. I felt kinda bad doing that, but when we alerted her to her error, she acted as though it was some minor slip-up and no more than a mere mistake over preference. It's gotta be taken far more seriously. Tbh, she was lucky that it was just me and not my kid that she was jeopardizing, cause I would've unrepentantly turned into a fire-breathing ÜberKaren if that were the case.
@IvanJacobs-u8s11 күн бұрын
when i used to work in food service i was VERY clear that i could not guarantee anything was allergen free. we worked in a tiny kitchen with lots of processed food, we just didn't have the space/time to ensure things didn't have dairy, cross contamination from nuts etc. i was paranoid about ever causing someone to have an allergic reaction. its so easy to be honest and save a life. dude deserved more than 50k.
@Faude187 күн бұрын
@@BasedRanger Überkaren xD, What's crazy is that some people think allergies give you a running nose or a mild rash and that's it. They say he climbed over the 2 foot fence at the time and fell into the 5 foot moat and drowned. My great aunt sued and got a settlement, but only under the condition she takes partial blame for it. Sadder thing is she swore up and down that he had to be taken by someone since he disappeared so freaking quick, and that his body had bruises in certain places that wouldn’t have occurred from falling into a 5 foot deep moat. Disney paid her 1.5 million I think and also made the fences taller around the moat. She gave a lot of that settlement money to orphanages and to other child related charities every holiday and for her son’s birthday. She kept donating until she passed away.

@MmeCShadow3 ай бұрын
I think the $50k for the wrongful death suit is JUST what they filed against Disney (who are only leasing tge property and not actually running the restaurant). He also sued the actual restaurant, and I'm guessing that was for a lot more money To my understanding tge suit against Disney is specifically because their app says the pub accommodates for allergies (which I think is why the lawyer pulled the Disney+ arbitration clause, since it was related to use of an app). The $50k is also baseline, not including ain/suffering/lost wages/funeral costs/whatever else is added on top, so $50k was probably the maximum Disney could be sued for on a very tenuous relationship to the incident.

If I lost my significant other out of pure negligence to a multi billion dollar company, 50 million dollars is my starting point definitely not no 50k, they make that in a minute, I will never cry for or defend a billion dollar company on it's shady practices. Disney is becoming so dystopian it's just so surreal at this point. Heck on top of that money I'd have them get Tevin Campbell to show up to my house dressed as Powerline and perform Stand Out and I 2 I 😂.

I remember hearing about the kids headstone thing in college and I was PISSED. First off disney doesn't OWN spiderman he was a freaking comic book loooooong b4 the mouse got the rights. We know disney wants to be a slave driver but sorry you don't own everything. Secondly the innocence thing had me laughing. They forget that spiderman is one of the most tragic marvel superheroes and that literally EVERYONE dies around him. He even tried committing suicide a couple of times in the comics. They have ppl die around him IN THEIR DISNEY MOVIES: Aunt May, Tony stark. INNOCENT PPL IN RANDOM ATTACKS Thirdly, the fact that Disney the original trauma inducer with movies where fathers are killed by their own brothers, mothers die from insert illness here and priests attempted murder by drowning babies in wells is such a bullshit read
