I often find that some good story ideas come from inspirations of other works since you're taking something people have already seen and making it interesting again. Like how Hidetaka Miyazaki took heavy inspiration from Berserk and other such media to create the Soulsbourne series.

Royal Drake same, Dark Souls 3 hooked me in (390+ hours into DS3 BTW) and still hasn't let me go. I've heard horrible things about the PC port of DS1 and want to avoid it, I'll probably skip DS2 as well given that game's rep.

I've never played Dark Souls on ps4, but on Xbone and PC, the roll mechanic is basically identical in DS1 as it is in DS2, minus the invincibility frames. Maybe that's just a ps4 thing?

To be fair on DS: Remastered, it will have a much better engine running the thing, so maybe we can have a version where Blight Town doesn't turn the game into the second worst family slideshow in history. I still don't get why you find Oceiros hard, I've only died to him 5 times to him over three playthroughs (2 on my first (first ever Souls game BTW), 1 on my second and 2 on my thrid). I'm pretty sure that Iudex Gundyr killed me more times on my thrid playthrough (went Thief and the Bandit's Knife made the fight more difficult for me) than Oceiros has over three playthroughs. Phase 1 is easy as his atracks are rather easy to dodge, phase 2 it's similar but more tedious due to how he moves. Though that might change as I'm currently a sorcerer (if you've run into player named Mage Maverick on PC then hi there), unless I go through the first DLC and the second up to the point that I can obtain the Murky Longstaff. That fight won't be fun due to how he counters magic so well, and I NEED the Moonlight Greatsword. Plus Champion Gundyr is such a good boss.
