Hey want to clarify why you throw Marshmallows in the water, I lived in central FL. during the time Joe is talking about (while they were protected) It was a safety test if you came to a body of water if you throw a few Marshmallows in if there are Gators or Crocs they will come up and eat them right off - because they think they are one of their favorite foods = Snake eggs, because they float and are a ready available food. When I still visit I still do if I'm going fishing or swimming or getting near to water. Here's another one why do Gators / Crocs go up and eat a golf ball on a golf course on the land, but they don't in the water because they sink in the water and eggs don't. Don't forget their brains are walnut sized.

For the question about what what suits might be better, for example you can find a wet suit that has a design that resembles a venomous sea snakes, in particular the ones with the black and white striped bodies. Sharks including great whites always stay away from sea snakes because they know of the dangers that come with sea snakes aka the fact that they're highly venomous

Ditto! I spent hours swimming in the ocean every summer, body surfing and swimming long distances beyond the breaking waves. Remember bumping into nurse sharks in the surf all the time. Oddly that didn't freak me out but I'd constantly fight the fear in the deep water.. my mind would see big sharks with their mouths open coming towards me in the swirling sand after the waves break.. eerie feelings constantly. I don't know how I did it! 55 yrs old now.. I wish I had a pool!!!! Miss water very much... think it's time to splurge!

Little back story on that decapitated diver. I'm in the Sea of Cortez and this happened south of me. This was the first great white attack in 2023. The prior year they had another attack in the general area. The Mexican government stopped all shark diving tours for Guadalupe and Sicorro Islands. Apparently this rather large shark is tagged from Guadalupe and is known to venture into the sea. What do you think? You think the tours may have conditioned this shark to associate divers with food?

bruh sharks dont want to eat people. but they are instinctual animals, doesnt make sense to try and apply human logic to an animal that is literally just programmed to do what it does.
@kennethmullen-qe9hg
@kennethmullen-qe9hg 10 ай бұрын
@@TRVPHAUS Yeah, I mean it's really surprisingly similar to like a dog, that's maybe always been super sweet never attacked, bit or hurt anything before in its whole life, maybe, chased squirrels, bunnies, or the occasional kitty cat but didn't injure, or kill them, pretty normal average dog behavior, a slight predator chase reaction response, occasionally, but nothing more than that, no unusual or extreme other maladaptive behavior. Except, then, one day...something goes wrong, something happens, and it may or may not even be clear exactly WHAT, but something triggers the dog, and he freaks out, and, maybe doesn't go on a killing spree, but maybe attacks a little kid, severely injuring him or her, though still alive, the child was in certain great danger, the potential for their perishing all too real. Not knowing it then or even understanding, but that dog had signed his own death warrant, that day. Really crazy thing, is that same/a very similar thing can potentially happen with every human being, as well. But yeah, sharks don't want to eat us PER SE, inherently, but similar to rats and other animals, a shark's eyesight isn't great, underwater makes tricky viewing, and identifying a potential source of prey tricky, so, they tend to rely on other senses, like smell, and electric pulses and energy release or dispersal. And, we goofy humans in water environments, which are not our best venue or arena, we're already very vulnerable every time we enter into the water, but, the electric currents, and/or discharges our bodies emit swimming are remarkable similar to that of some injured fish and yes also our silhouette can look similar to seals and seal lions from below, in murky water, to animals that don't see particularly well. Plus...a human can be attacked from territorial aggression, alone, as well as, again, as mentioned above, any creature has the potential to just snap one day, even me or you. SCARILY...it could be something almost completely arbitrary which may cause it to occur. It is unlikely, but does happen. Same as plane crashes, house fires, tornadoes/hurricanes/earthquake fatalities, lightning strike, natural gases emitted from the earth that're deadly, a stranger going psycho on people, water and ocean and volcano accidents, plus, also, animal attacks, anything from our beloved pet, to stinging insects or other venomous creatures, to apex predators, both on land and in water, including the Great White Shark (which at 20+ ft long, whenever at that size, the impact alone, must be like gettin' hit by a bus or truck underwater, and, probably, is potentially deadly, even without their huge mouths, gaping wide, loaded up, with bucketfuls of daggers and razor blades on top of it LmMFaO!)

I live in a subdivision in a popular tourist beach town in FL(about an hour from Panama City Beach). I can see the beach from my front porch. We have alligators that live behind our subdivision in the flooded ditch beside the road. The alligators aren’t even a problem, it’s the black bears that come out every night and tear shit up that we have to worry about. We have a 5ft tall vinyl privacy fence in our backyard(stupid HOA rules🙄) bc we have 3 small dogs and multiple times we’ve had bears climb it and knock down whole sections of it. We have a doggie door and 2 tiny chihuahuas and an overweight, elderly Min Pin that seriously believe they are a gang of dangerous killers, ready to fight for their territory at any given time, and nothing makes them more angry than when the bear knocks down the fence and steps a foot in our yard. And I don’t mean that my dogs just bark and growl at the bears, I’m saying that they chase after them and bite the backs of their legs🤦‍♀️😭 It’s so stressful. We’ve called the FWC multiple times to report “nuisance bears with escalating behavior” in the city limits but they won’t do anything about it. They’re supposed to trap and relocate nuisance bears before they become dangerous to humans. They like to walk down the beach and freak the tourists out too. People are usually always shocked to find out that we even have bears here. A lot of people aren’t aware that Panama City and Panama City Beach has bears too.

There are sooo many seals out there, which means there 100% sharks haha. Basically what I'm getting at is that there are surfers, and then there are people who literally just don't give af.

I’m not speaking so much about turbulent waters so much as regular conditions. They made it all the way up the mississippi. A vw bug went through the ice into the lake by lake city mn. A diver went down and found a bull shark inside under the ice. That spring they did a survey of some tributaries around the twin cities and found 3 baby sharks, which meant atleast one pregnant female was in the vicinity.

Growing up in south FL we had a gator in our lake behind the house and one day before school I was in the back yard and watched it rush up and just snatched this lady's dog and tore back into the lake. Weird part tho is we all swam in that lake all the time but we also fed it marshmallows! Thinking of it now .... maybe that lady should have fed it marshmallows. They dont get any natural sugars in their diet so when they get marshmallows it's probably like crack and I believe the part of the brain sugar acts on is mostly what an alligator uses, believe it or not there have been alligators as pets that never hurt anyone. Lmao not for me ! I now live on a lake in Florida that has one of the largest populations of bull alligators in the state and its basically an alligator super highway, great for pictures!

I live in the north Georgia mountains...apparently a lady kept an alligator in a pond alive here for years. I did a little research on alligators surviving cold temps and found they can.. even some frozen water, keeping their nose sticking out for air. Our winters are short and times below freezing are brief. I don't trust wild waters in our zone... only the ice cold spring fed rivers but even those I wonder if gators could be there.. very unrealistic but fear plays games in our minds! Ambush predators so successful that they haven't changed in millions of years. Def respect.

There was an elderly woman who just kept pushing the narrative sharks are harmless and in one video where she's petting them like dogs, the chain mail she was wearing kinda says she's full of if. The last 2 shark fatalities on the east coast were both wearing black dive suits. Quite a few videos of kayak fisherman getting their paddles biten. Take a wild guess at what color the paddles were.
@tonyadamson8144

Reminder, they are not harmless just curious... But curiosity with a creature that uses its mouth to test things is deadly. And chain mail is used for safety as well as because the sharks skin is unpleasant to touch with bare skin.
