So at the end you asked us to comment and let you know which one we liked the best. But for me I would say that all 3 projects are equally “the best” for the simple reason that they all apply to the viewers in a different way. And that means that we all watch this video with the mindset of “ok cool based on my setup or skill level etc etc… I can make #2” or whichever one applies. I believe each 1 of the projects you made are equally as important as the other 2. I hope that makes sense. 😉 Either way, great video and thank you for sharing it.

I liked #2. I was surprised to see it became an upward arrow. I don’t crave representative shapes, but this one felt like an uplifting reminder to…oh never mind. That’s plenty.💖

LOVE these pieces AND loved the 3 tiers of projects based on what tools you have and what your comfort level is. I think first wood art is more visually striking and may have made for a more attention grabbing thumbnail to grab those views.

Best is the second one w/hand tools. First one also very good. The star is seen it seen it seen it. I would have tried a 3D effect overlap or put a something under to lift them up. Have you thought about bamboo skewers also with 3D. Might be interesting.

I watched this video after I made it and happened to do it the 2nd way (hand saw + miter box) however I first taped pieces in place and want to stick them all in one go. Just in case I change my mind at some point. Next I will stain everything. Would love to know if there is some polyurethane or varnish sort of thing to apply over on top to protect the piece. Good video for instructions! I did it the hard way 😀
@Caroline_Winkler4 жыл бұрын
Hey that’s awesome!! You can definitely do a wood finish to help protect, I’d say do a polyurethane (probably matte finish or satin finish, but up to you) - another option is a lacquer finish. With either finish you’ll need to do several coats, and you can buy both finishes in spray can version, which might be best for a project like this! That way it can get into all the cracks without globbing on big drips or anything. Lmk if that helps!! I’d love to see the finished product!

Do you like the Ryobi saw? That is the one I am looking at buying. I am so glad, I found your channel. New sub. ❤ I learned a lot.
@Caroline_Winkler3 жыл бұрын
I do! It’s totally adequate for the job, and definitely an affordable option. I also have the Ryobi miter saw which is also a great option for starting out. However for a jigsaw, I have preferred paying a bit more for the Mikita brand. My two cents!

Love them all. So genius to give 😁 different approached to us. ONLY a Virgo could have that much patience and exactitude (is that a word?) My pet peeve is when oncoming drivers speed up to prevent you from making a turn in front of them...🙄
@jessicastevens57822 жыл бұрын
don't know how to make this not sound like trollish, but honestly don't mean it that mean it that way. is it possible that you're having trouble judging the speed of oncoming cars so that it just seems like they're speeding up?

How do you hang them on the wall ?

Oo good question! I just get sawtooth picture hangers, I’ll link one below. You hammer it in to the back of the picture / frame/ art whatever, and then it can hang on the wall on a nail, super easy! www.instacart.com/landing?product_id=22760488&retailer_id=238®ion_id=38190616525&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI-LGRps3p7wIVr_LACh3EYAaLEAQYAiABEgJ76_D_BwE

This is great! Thank you! Just sharing that this might also work on some furniture (geometry permitting...). I'm using an old wardrobe I had in my childhood bedroom in our new guest room and it has a horrible fake wood color, so I sanded and painted it and did something similar, but flatter on the doors to make it a bit more interesting, since the couch and desk in that room are gray and white.

My most hated thing is when people disrespect cyclists, I don’t even own a bike so I’m not one of them, it’s not personal, but in Italy there’s such hatred from drivers to cyclist, as if they are not even vehicles and should not be there because they are slowing their life down momentarily for like what? 1 minute? 2 minutes? The time necessary to safely overtake them on a busy road. Get off your pedestal drivers.
