Thanks IrixGuy I have done my first official software update with no problems (the 1st was done by my DJI contact) no problems at all! Just one thing.... We you use your arms to show a forward slash when referring to subscribing to your channel, its actually a back slash to your viewers as we see the opposite to what you see :) thanks again!

IrixGuy, good resource video as I always forget what the beeps mean. It is mentioned in other comments as well, but I'll say it again...starting with release of FW 1.3.20 the controller firmware cannot be updated using the USB method. You must update the controller by using the DJI Go App.

Nice informative video. After checking the new created files for success on the micro SD card shouldn't you erase all the files except the DCIM folder from the card before installing it back into the Phantom?

This is a great video sir!!! But i do have one issue with updating my controller. I tried doing it exactly like you showed in the video and the light stays red the whole time. I also tried using a jump drive just incase my adapter might have malfunctioned and it stayed red still. I have run out of ideas, and would like to know if there is anything else i can do? The RC firmware can be updated by connecting the mobile device to the controller. Make sure there is Internet access, the RC will be upgraded via the DJI GO app., no SD card is needed. The update progress bar is shown on the app.

Thanks for the video. It always helps to have a video compared to a document. You are providing a lot of help. I quick question. I was able to successfully upgrade both controller and transmitter. Do we need to take off the firm ware files from the sd card after the upgrade is complete or it does not matter if we left them as is and plugged the sd card into the slot on aircraft.

Sushil Pallemoni Thank you! While SD card is connected to your computer, delete those files....only leaving DCIM folder. They'll just take up space that would otherwise be used for video and/or photo storage on the card.

you don't actually need the card reader. you can update both the copter and the controller by using the usb cable.

As of today DJI offers three updates "1.3.2" "1.8.8" "1.9.6" Im getting a new phantom 3 Adavane aka 100% stock hasn't been open since manufacturing and I wanted to know which version was the best for the drone

rchelicopterheaven As for multiple batteries and firmware for each, I don't have an answer for that but I do know that I've flown with new batteries (that were not inside during update) and I have not had problems. After I update Phantom 3 and Phantom 3 controller I insert the microSD card into my Mac and delete the firmware update file.

BTW, its hard to follow u for some people when u dont show what u are doing on your screen i can immagine. Use OBS or open broadcaster software to record it for free. Just to make ur videos even better.

Have you updated latest firmware 1.2.6 for the Phantom 3 Pro? Ive been reading on the DJI forum that people are having flight problems after updating. Im afraid to fly mine after updating. Have you had problems? Just wondering if I should wait to fly until a newer update is available before I fly. I understand you can't roll back to previous updates.

Hi. There, I am fan of your videos since 2015 when I bought my DJI P3P and as a matter of fact I watched your videos before I opened the box, learned all the procedures. The problem I am facing is that everything was fine until late 2015 when I was deployed for Military duty and didn't return until now (May 2018). Last month I opened my DJI P3P and tried to fly and found that my android don't show the camera view. I did all the efforts to make it work but no success. The worst thing I am facing now is I can't update the firmware on my P3P including remote. I wondear if you could provide guidance to resolve this issue. Every week since last month on Sat and Sun I spend few hours to resolve the firmware update but no luck. I watched number of videos and followed all the steps but no luck. +Emmanuel Xander I have flown with older firmware, although I don't think it's recommended. It happens to me quite a bit actually when I travel and don't have reliable Internet at my final destination.

Patricio Grez You should just be able to do the latest .bin file and it will be fine, but I'm not quite sure.

Patricio Grez I updated my Phantom 3 to the first firmware update and then to the second firmware update. I noticed that they only have the most current firmware published now, so my guess would be that likely works. I have no way to test it though unfortunately or I would (only have one Phantom 3 Pro).

I fixed it. the problem is the logo on my drone is " Phantom Profession". but somehow, the DJI GO recognize it is the "Advanced". So I downloaded the Advanced firmware version and follow your instructions, then it work. do you know why my is the advanced instead professional. thanks

how do i know when i need to update my firmware, I have a new phantom 3 pro and I am having trouble getting it to fly. when I turn on I am getting a loud beeping . when I try to hover its pulling to one side , what can I do

My phantom 3 advanced was flying perfectly normal for its first two flights, everything was great and It was steady as a rock. The 3rd flight however, it began as a normal flight, then suddenly after about 5 minutes of flying, it randomly took a hard left and began spinning and losing altitude rapidly. I tried to apply thrust but it was all for not. It hit my roof then landed on the ground. Can anyone please offer me some insight here? I have no Idea how or why this may have occurred.

Perhaps did you at any stage after starting up the motors and as sending up did you by any chance either pull the throttle right back again or indeed did you pull back both again just as you do when starting or arming your motors? it her of these would cause your problem. Best regards, Tom

MOHAN PATEL Do you see physical damage? If not, you may get lucky with an IMU calibration, followed up by a gimbal auto-calibration.
