I know Karma will get that POS one day! It always does! This shits only going to make him more arrogant and assuming he's "Eric Cartman" immune to Karma! Thing is trying to be him in real life is a BAD idea because life isn't a TV SHOW! Status Quo will NOT reset at the "end of an episode!" Instead you have to "live with the shit you've done" and he will RUE when he "crosses the wrong one!" Sad that in order for that to happen...."another victim will have to happen" which is why I hope a victimless. And OP was too nice on the others! Even if they were influenced, they were still shit heads close to his level! I was once an easily lead around the nose idiot like "those younger guys" for a year when I was 13 and still look back at that point in my life with Cringe and "never again" so I'm not going to "go easy" because I knew what I was doing and had no regrets till the shittiness was SCARED OUT OF ME (Almost suffered CONSEQUENCES that scared me straight! Something I think could be fun would be fun to see is Doge putting up character sheets for each of his cats, as Taboxi, and showing them off as basically an entire party, complete with images of the actual cats as the profile images for the character sheets. We already know Lucky would likely be a Bard, but what about the rest of Doge's cats? What classes would they be? What class archetypes would they be? I think Doge might have a bit of fun with it, and he could show them of around Christmas, if doing so for Halloween would be too soon.

I am noticing a lot of skepticism. Let me tell you something from a female perspective then. This shit? It happens and the scary part is that it can happen just like this. Could this still be fabricated? Sure! Does that make this story less likely to have happened exactly as op wrote? No. Sadly it doesn’t. I’ve had guys who tried to pull this shit on me. I’ve also had guy friends that are as good as the OP in here, who go out of their way, once they are aware of it, to beat the crap out of the bad guys and protect their friend. There is guys just as bad as the ones here in this story, but luckily, there is guys just as good as the ones in this story. I do hope the girl eventually allowed herself to play dnd again. Who knows, maybe with the pandemic she took it up again online like a good chunk of us did. I can only hope that she was able to recover and eventually maybe enjoy the hobby she once had so much hope for.

The reason why this seems fake is not because a woman was taken advantage of, it's the strangely satisfying happy ending, the assholes getting stitches, having to move out etc. It also has serious internal consistency issue - wizard knew the barb and rogue were interested so he got them involved, but suspected op and DM may be as well but THEY get singled out? It just makes no sense and reads too much like a revenge fanfic. I don't think people doubt such people exist, but the story itself reeks of bullshit

Maybe, just maybe that could've had something to with them not getting clued in on Wizards and co scheme? I don't know if they really beat the dudes up or not, I hope so but dudes getting girls into games for nefarious reasons, was a real thing when I was growing up in the 90's. Maybe not to the point of a cabal or horny dudes trying to pass a girl around, but a conspiracy to help their friend sleep with the 1 girl in the group. At least one of those instances is a horror story of its own involving tricking a girl into getting pregnant so that "She could never leave him." using a sabotaged condom.

I have so much empathy for Ranger. Ranger likely felt like she couldn't go to OP and DM. Consider it from her point of view: She had 3 trusted friends saying the same thing; if what they're all saying is true, she's at significant risk. Best case scenario, OP and DM deny everything; worst case scenario, they drug and assault her. I don't blame her for trying to stay safe with the information she had at the time; she couldn't have known that these three "witnesses" who approached her to warn her about her safety had nefarious intentions and a vested interest in destabilizing her ability to trust her support system. I'm glad things were handled in the end, but I'm so sad she was put through that first. That's a trauma that lingers.

Now, consider it from your own point of view: if three people that you only recently befriended started telling you, out of the blue and with no evidence, that somebody who's been a trusted friend of yours for years has "intentions" with you, would you just instantly swallow it hook, line, and sinker, without a moment's doubt, like Ranger did according to the story? If the answer is yes, then you don't deserve to call that person your friend 👍

After thinking about this during a break at work today, I've changed my mind from it's probably an embellished story to it didn't happen at all. Sadly, the only realistic part is some scumbag taking advantage of a woman. The rest is just too fictitious to be true. The MC's crew were all attractive and great at art, but specifically different styles to make them more unique. The villains irl physical descriptions matched the class they were playing and were not attractive looking. OP couldn't talk to Ranger despite sharing art classes with her. OP bought minis for the other players and dm while also performing vigilante justice against bullies on the side. 13 strangers fighting someone they don't know after overhearing a conversation in the school parking lot. A perfect ending with an amazing decade long game consisting of rotating dms being established by op and dm, but dm being transferred elswhere and falling out of touch so you can't collaborate the story with him.

The aspects of the girl being manipulated, being taken advantage of and made to distrust her friends are all believable and the inevitable spiraling out of control that followed for her, but there are a few points in the story I find odd in addition. The best lies are truths with missing information, and that is the easiest way to manipulate someone. I think there was some truth to the OP and DM actually being attracted to and wanting to sleep with the girl. I think it's probable they made comments behind her back about it. I don't think the OP actually ever conspired to take advantage of her, but I really doubt OP and DM were totally innocent in that regard. Then the ending, as others have commented, has a "and then everyone clapped" feel to it. The Ranger comes off as having zero sense of responsibility for herself - she chose to have sex with the manipulative guy, after all. He betrayed her trust but wasn't worthy of her trust to begin with. It's extremely unwise to escalate to sex that quickly with someone for exactly this reason, but maybe she was young and stupid, I know I was once upon a time. I've literally never heard of or seen a guy getting beaten up for taking advantage of a girl like that without the ones committing violence being blood relatives of the girl.

This is not gonna be a popular take, but fuck it. Stories like these always wake the skeptic in me. It just all sounds so... onesided. OP and friend are the obvious awesome good guys who can do no wrong while Wizard and friends are so evil, it almost veers into cartoonish levels of villainy, while Ranger plays the helpless damsel in distress and the general layout of the story as it's told here just sounds like a paint-by-number story of good guys vs bad guys. I don't question that parts of this story are real and that the gist of it is true, but the details don't really seem to add up. It's all too neat and convenient. In real life, situations are almost never this black and white and definitely don't wrap up with a satisfying ending like that. Sure, the friendship between OP and Ranger is ruined, but the beatdown he put on Wizard just sounds so farfetched. Like I'm watching a cheap, poorly made lifetime movie that wants to impart the lessons of rape, mistreatment and bullying on us, but in a very heavyhanded way and I'm having a hard time buying it. It feels like OP exaggerated the story to make themselves and their friend look better and cooler than what they likely were in the real scenario and Wizard likely wasn't as bad as they're painted out to be. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe every word of it is true. But it doesn't FEEL true, from how it's written. It feels like a glory piece that strokes the author's ego, more than anything. I'm calling it exaggerated and made up in parts, with only some of this happening as described, but most of it was probably nowhere near as dramatic. I'll never know for sure, but that's my take on it. I imagine it won't be a popular one, but there it is.

But duuuude! The OP ended up getting like, stitches. From someone's broken teeth! That's gotta be real, how do you fake stitches?! Seriously though, most of these stories are exaggerated at the very least. As they say, history is written by the victors. Or nowadays, history is written by whoever has a reddit account and a fragile ego that needs bolstering. I'm looking forward to hearing a story where the OP did some dumb shit as well. You don't ever really hear about "I'm the one who ruined the campaign" or "I wound up kicked out of the group because I was the dickbag, not them". Not even "I wasn't the person this story is about but I also acted like a jerk". Always "He was racist and homophobic and got violent and physical with everyone plus he was like a total neckbeard with a natural armor of cheeto crumbs AND I heard he drowned a puppy once. In-between our donating to the homeless and building a new orphanage for the local kids after the last one burnt down (we suspect it was problem-player's doing!) we HEROICALLY confronted him and SAVED the local populace from his evil, nefarious, TWISTED intentions! May the bards sing of our heroism for ages to come!"

@@rollanddev I do take most of the stories on here with a grain of salt, but most of the exaggerations and grandtalking is usually confined to a certain limit, so I don't bother to point it out. This one is overflowing with it and I'm not sure I buy most of it. I believe the core of the story. There are a lot of details and it reads like something that could have happened to a real person, at its core. The main events either really happened or he spent a good amount of time making sure enough details lined up to make it look like a real story, before he blew it out of proportion. Since the former is easier, I'm inclined to believe the main parts of it really happened. But the details sound very exaggerated and blown way out of proportion. In my experiences, life doesn't work that way. This is how people act in movies; not real life.

@@icecreamnoodles3742 See, I wanna believe this is real. Honestly, I do. But the way it's written raises so many red flags in my head and triggers a lot of my 'hold up, this doesn't check out' warnings. I believe the gist of the story. The core of it is probably true and sadly probably did happen. The surrounding details, maybe not so much. It's written like a self glorifying puff piece and reeks of white knighting. There is always the possibility, however slim, that everything happened exactly as described, but based on my own experiences and having seen some shit, I rather doubt it. Everyone has seen shit and it's different for all of us, so it colours our views and makes us see the world differently, but I'm putting a lot of question marks and doubts on a lot of the details here. The fight, the cry session, the blatant 'we did nothing wrong and we're cool guys' reassurances that he keeps smacking us over the head with, the almost over the top evil way the villain of the story acts. It just doesn't feel like a real thing. I believe parts of it actually happened and parts of it are greatly exaggerated either to make the story more engaging and entertaining or to boost the author's own ego and I'm inclined the believe the latter, due to the excessive way he wants to make use believe he's the good guy. It comes across as so excessive that he needs us to think he's the hero who valiantly fought for the girl in need that it borders on unbelievable.

The more and more this story drags on, i am becoming quite suspicious that this story is very reversed. OP (and possibly DM, but likely the DM is a made up character so that op isn't the only "hero") was the creep. The story likely ended when Ranger and the others formed their own group and everything after that is just a work of fiction to discredit everyone else.

Doge, I love you, but I disagree with you on one point; While it’s good to bring up rumors and the like to clear them up, in that situation Ranger most likely felt physically unsafe. As a woman/AFAB person, it can very risky to be confrontive at all with people who see you as an object, especially if you’re outnumbered. Sometimes the safest and/or best thing to do is just remove yourself from that situation entirely. If Ranger had brought it up with them, she very well may have been afraid that they’d hurt her.

But wait, wasn't it stated that the ranger and the dm were long time friends? And that the three incels were noobs that she just met? @@ElishaFollet well, I agree bailing on long time friendships sucks, and I wouldn’t do it lightly, but in this situation she had multiple people verifying the story. It was different for me, because I was a child, but I used it as an example. However, 5 AFAB friends/family members of mine have had experiences like that as teens/adults, and many more acquaintances have mentioned harassment in passing. These are things you just have to be aware of and keep in mind. There are too many stories of someone not listening and being assaulted. Edit to add that the trauma that can come from being assaulted can cost more than the grief of losing a friendship. To me, the lingering feelings of betrayal and struggle to trust are very much not worth sticking in a situation like that.

Thats not why people think its fake. 3 seemingly normal dudes turning out to be misogynistic scumbags is believable. "15 people, most of which had no prior involvement in anything before that, got suspended for heroically beating the shit out of them" and "girl has more trust in said 3 dudes she barely knows outside of DnD than her actual friend and the DM she bonded with prior to the campaign" that feel... questionable at best. The latter alone i could potentially see depending on the circumstances, but in combination with that "And everyone clapped" ending it reads more like a dramatised narrative than an actual real account of events. The story is, at minimum, puffed up to be more entertaining and/or make OP sound like a cooler guy than he actually is, and at worst entirely fictional. The fact that incels exist doesnt mean that every reddit story that invokes the word is actually true lol.

I have a hunch that op has embellished the story At first is believable up until the party splits but it's kinda sus that she changed her judgment on op based solely on what the other players told her, made me feel like there was something more that op wasn't saying then the whole second part is downright cartoonish, the line about "Recruiting more toys" is just soo Cliché, and then the bad guys get beaten up by arround 15 people and the only damage that op takes is from the broken teeth of one of the beaten guys, the protagonist doesn't get hit but still gets a cool scar (also 10 stitches? Did he slice his foreman?) My theory is that op was a creep and wrote this fanfic after they dropped him

@@greeninja5991 - Here's a more realistic (therefore sadder) possibility: it all happened as OP said, _except_ that wizard never had his villain monologue to Ranger. He just seduced and abandoned her, and bragged about his scheme later to other guys. OP informed Ranger, but she never trusted _any_ of them again. It wasn't the three aggressors who left the school, but Ranger, who still believes OP and the DM might have been just as scuzzy as the three chuds. There might have actually been a fight, but it was much more even-sided, with no satisfaction for anyone. The fictional parts, then, would be Ranger learning the real truth (real villains seldom actually admit it), and the mass school attack on the douchenozzles - OP only _wished_ he could have arranged such a suitable punishment. At least, that's _my_ fanfiction reworking of the story. None of us will ever know the truth, and I really _hope_ it happened just as OP said, but anyone who feels too cynical to trust it can have this version free of charge.

As bad as that story was. I still love it when people misuse the word incel and continually throw it around as if they know the definition of the word inside and out. The 3 in the story sound like scumbags. But they were not incels by far. 1st off they would have to have been in online websites or messangers or some kind of online community. Which is not the case. 2nd they would they would have had to consider themselves unable to attract the other person sexually or even romantically. And clearly that wasn't the case since one of them dated and got in her pants. And 3rd would have been hostile towards men and women who are sexually active. This is textbook definition of the word incel. As for the 3rd part of the word confuses me a little if it means the incel is hostile to the people who are sexually active, or the incel is hostile and sexually active to the other person, or hostile to the other person who is sexually active. I have no idea. The 3rd part of the definition in my opinion was not clear thoroughly clear enough for me to understand. But clearly the scumbags in this story don't hit at least 2 of the 3 marks for the definition for the word incel. However these people did have very foul and manipulation manners here. I did enjoy hearing the part where the fight broke out. THAT sounded like D&D come to life against a trio of bandits and made sure never to return again.

Definitely agreed. The most believable part of the story is that Wizard was a dirt bag. The OP makes himself suspiciously more innocent than I would expect if it were real, and throws around terms like "incel" to describe a guy that... manipulated a girl into sleeping with him. The OP also says it happened over a decade ago from when it was originally posted, so OP feels a little too old to be casually throwing that word around. If it did happen, my first guess is OP is a bit less innocent than he's letting on. He says he had a girlfriend but she figures so little into the story that it strikes me as suspicious in conjunction to how he talks about the girl in the story. My second would be that no way those three boys were attacked and beaten by a dozen guys on purely hearsay at that very moment. If the Ranger's 6'6" football-playing brother came down and beat the crap out of the Wizard and his friends, that would be considerably more believable. Unless the guy was doing something really horrible in public in the moment (something that would get him in prison for years or decades), there's no way it would end the way OP described.
