I know that you wrote this comment 5 years ago but you are so right. Kenny Tran read this like he could see through the cards. I have watched poker since the early WPT televised events with all the greats but the one question I wonder is how could anyone know that this was not a bluff? I guess the players have to know the tendencies of Bob. Durr did tell Bob to show the bluff.

@@upwardgaming9311 Not taking anything from Tran but once you see that Antonio had a ten what can Bob have? I mean Bob is bombing away from the start and if he doesnt have a ten what hand can he have? He has to have pocket 9s. It is possible to I guess think that Bob had 10 9 but then what hand is Dwan playing that makes him keep calling Bob? Dwan has to have a 10 also or else why not take the lead? and of course the J makes the open ender a possibility so there it is.

One of the toughest things in poker, folding a really big hand when you will lose only to one specific monster hand but all the evidence points to your opponent having exactly that hand. I usually just call and feel sorry for myself.

I feel like that is more of a factor when its heads up but when there are 3 people total it is harder for them to bluff. Especially when they have to pay for potential draws. This means when they call or raise their range is tighter in the better hands. The real problem is that Tom Dwan didn't improve at all and so there is no reason to think he wins there. He could be going against JJ 1010 109 99 and considering they play loose they can open with all of those. That is too many hands to bet against because 1. they arent folding 2. you didn't improve 3. they kept betting

DNegs I think you're great man and am digging your vlog. As we've all seen this hand before, I particularly like Safai's line on the flop to raise against 2 aggressive players. a smooth call looks super strong... like you also said he has the under boat, vulnerable and wants to get as much money in as he can while he figures to have the best hand... he's actually unlucky to have not gotten his 3 full streets of value. Antonio didn't over embellish his pain fold but a player of his calibre needs to simply fold quietly and not give perceived info to the other players.

Hey Daniel! Thanks for the video. I'll mention on one thing. I think it's possible that Antonio wouls play 78s this way and called flop to see what developed on the turn after investing so much. Dwan probably thought there was a slim possibility he was up against a 10. Doubtful, but worth working through on the end. Even if so, the only 10 he's beating is 108 or 107. Fold makes sense. Nice analysis.

Safai let it get under his skin and talked subtle trash to Dwan until he won that pot. I enjoy Daniel analysis and delivery far more than listening to Polk. Polk goes on narrantive benders that loses you in his translation of the hand(s). He'll say a million things and then "Lets take a flop". What??
