Dude called out the biggest problem I have with religion, people cherry pick the parts that they like and just ignore the stuff that they don't like.
@Mr.DudeMan28725 жыл бұрын
A lot of religious people are hypocrites in this regard although there are many that aren't hypocritical like this. Similarly, many climate and othet activists are hypocrites by poluting the earth while also complaining that other people are to blame making them even more of hypocrites by trying to get others to do what they won't do.
@TheSkyrimInquisitor5 жыл бұрын
One thing that decided me leaving Christianity. I was never really religious but once you start thinking about it there's a lot of contradictions of what is said in the Bible and how people behave/act, a whole lot of hypocrites. Same goes with muslims. I feel like one guy from the Muslim Middle Ground video said it best. With one hand he prays, with the other he sins.

@@abetak297 The thing is, he talked about how there are rules in the Bible about people dressing a certain way and eating certain things. That point is kind of invalid because all of those rules are in the Old Covenant. Once Jesus came and died, He established the New Covenant and the Mosiac Law in the Old Testament wasn't important anymore; Jesus himself said so when He established the new covenant. It still talks about homosexuality in the New Testament (after the New Covenant was established) in Romans and 1 Timothy and 1 Corinthians. But never once does it say that those people are hated or condemned or should be treated so (because the New Covenant is a whole lot of loving people). There are so many divisions and sometimes we just need to agree to disagree instead of arguing because that will cause even more division. I'm just imagining getting to heaven someday and God laughing at our little arguments because we all are wrong in some way and I really can't wait to get to heaven someday and for Him to laugh and show me what I missed.

When Kytia said she loves lgbtq people and then said that we are on the same level as pedophiles, I was very disappointed. Like that is something Ive heard my whole entire life being a gay person and in the church. I really want her to understand what she is saying when she says this. She's taking something that she has a hard time understanding, and conflating an entire group of human beings with the worst thing she can think off, and then she claims that she loves us. That is hatred, anger, and fear. Not love. Love is understanding. Love is recognizing somebody as a human being first and treating them as a human being whether you agree with their lifestyle or not

Bjørn Ramsden Looks like your relationship with Christianity was based on imperfect people and Not on who Jesus Was according to the Bible. Nontheless, in regards to the Christians who oppose homosexuality, their beliefs are derived from Scripture. The Bible condemns Homosexuality and calls those who practice it, to repent and believe the Gospel to be saved. As well as everyone else that practices sin in their unbelief. Your issue really is what God has commanded of us in regard to how we are to live our lives.

YUM you can’t help who you are attracted to. Attraction isn’t something you can just change. Marcus André the Bible also says thou shall not commit adultery. Yet it is celebrated to commit that sin. I’m movies, in music, in culture it is encouraged to commit adultery. That sin is clearly just as wrong as homosexuality is made out to be in the Bible but no one is saying they will go to hell for it. No one says they don’t agree with that lifestyle because it is now normal behavior. That’s where Christianity becomes hypocritical because people want to choose which of gods laws they deem worthy to follow.

@TheVivaciousNerd4 жыл бұрын
@ThatZoomer A child is not a consenting ADULT, they dont understand what they are consenting to, which is why we dont consider it consent. Theres a reason children arent allowed to sign contracts or get married or do all the things adults can do, because they're frikken children and dont yet have enough maturity or life experience to make sound and informed choices. Also people who molest children usually groom, manipulate and emotionally abuse the kids as well, that's not consent. It's disgusting and cruel, and kids who experience sexual abuse are harmed in more ways than one. But please explain to me what is morally wrong with two adults choosing to love each other, who happen to have the same gender. How is that the same? How does that harm anybody? As a survivor of childhood sexual abuse myself, I deeply resent you comparing what I went through to that. The person who hurt me did it because he liked hurting me, that was the point, he liked making me scared. How could you possibly say that that man is no worse than, let's say, my gay uncle, who's been married for decades to an equally great guy, and took care of me when I moved to a new city alone? If you see no difference between these people then something's very wrong with you.

Even though I don’t believe in the story of Adam and Eve I’ll explain it that way. God was populating the world of course you would need one woman and one man because that’s how reproduction works. Once the world was larger there was more room for, well, people who don’t have children. This isn’t specifically my belief (why the frick would you make a man before a woman??? Hermaphrodites???) but I hope I explained this better. In short, there is no real need for population growth in the present, so why shouldn’t there be gay people?

When it’s directed toward something that can’t possibly create that result like underdeveloped ppl, other animals, and the same sex it’s an anomaly. I don’t get how me saying ‘barebones’ leads anything close to involving the normal function of relationships across majority of mammals. If it was then why would I even make the argument? Ok so she was responding to what the other person was saying about “attraction and love”. The other lady said that if she likes another girl or feels attracted to another girl then it’s perfectly ok to pursue it. Then this lady responded to that by asking (im paraphrasing) “Oh so then if a man is attracted to young boys then it should be alright” She was exposing the inaccuracy in the other lady’s statement saying that just because someone is attracted to somebody else in no wise makes it right
@nyxredfern50425 жыл бұрын
@@timmckinnon1233 I don't other lady's life, but it's probably pretty safe to assume there was an unspoken caveat to her statement that all parties involved are able to consent. If a straight person made the statement "I experience attraction and love to people of the opposite sex, and I should be able to pursue it" I doubt the first lady would be barging in with "But what about the children!" because she understands that the straight person doesn't mean children. She's trying to slippery slope argument the other lady (ie. if we allow X, then Y is next!).

Yeah but she isn't the one saying pedophilia is okay because they have a predisposition to it. The Asian girl was trying to justify her homosexual attraction by making the argument that it is part of who she is and its something she can't change. The Black girl argued that just having a seemingly ingrained attraction doesn't make it morally justified because a pedophile can also say "I can't change who I'm attracted to, I was born this way", but their attraction/behavior would still be morally wrong. Homosexuality does not equal pedophilia, but the argument used by some to morally justify them is the same.

There should be lines drawn!
@tagon23815 жыл бұрын
Rex Croatorum that is so wrong, where to start. First of all, we can see homosexuality in nature, thus making it natural. Homosexuality isn’t a switch, something you can turn on and off. There is a major difference between being attracted to the same consenting gender and scaring someone for life because you cannot control your desire. There is rehab for pedophilia, and it can be “controlled.” Pedophilia isn’t even comparable in an attractive instance - you could compare necrophilia in that instance too, but I’m pretty sure that’s illegal as well. Attraction isn’t the problem - it’s actions that are the problem. So trying to shift it towards attraction doesn’t do a thing to solve the problem, as it becomes so wide and vague that it doesn’t set any boundaries. We as a human species have decided certain things - that two consenting adults, no matter what gender, should be able to enjoy whatever they want to do sexually in the privacy of their own home. I think that’s what people don’t really understand about this argument - it’s not one about attraction, it’s one about having the same basic rights as any other human being.

2:50. I always think this is an interesting thing to say, "I love them, I just don't support them". It doesn't matter how much you think you "love" someone if they don't feel loved by you. Some of the people who "love" us put us through conversion therapy, out us, and kick us out of their homes. It doesn't mean anything for you to say you still "love" queer people, that you just "don't support their lifestyle". We don't feel loved by you. The Bible says "love thy neighbor", but I think it'd be better if it said "Make thy neighbor feel loved".
@AutumnRose13972 жыл бұрын
Great point. Many people say they are showing love to others when really they are just being selfish and the person doesn't feel loved at all. I'm not a part of the LGBTQ+ community and can never truly understand their experiences. All I know as a Christian is that I am called to love people. It is not Christians' jobs to point out sins (or what they think are sins) to others. I am supposed to work on myself and ask the Lord to change me for the better. For people we have differences with, (political party, sexuality, race, etc.) the main question we should be asking is "How do I love them better?"
@thebadpunusername89132 жыл бұрын
It does matter nobody needs to feel loved to be loved. Watch how this scolded for almost falling off a bridge by his parents he doesn't feel love however the amount of love that went into that scolding because of their genuine care for as well being is it still authentic. Love is the bastion of intent. As long as it's genuine love and not a misconception masquerading with the word love genuine desire to do something for the other person out of love cannot be taken away. If I bake someone cookies but I forget or didn't know that they are allergic to gluten it does not subtract from my intent to love that person. And to clarify will I have put it under the commons of someone else love defined biblically is an action not a feeling.
