I stopped watching for a bit (just crazy busy) but watched today. First comment is that I really noticed how Miss Linda has come a long way out of her shell since first episodes. Love the Empowered Linda!!! And Mr. Jerry has positively encouraged his lovely wife so it's good to see a mutually beneficial relationship/marriage in action. There is hope out there. Thank you.

I would like to compare my wife and my teaching yrs (33) here in Florida (polk county) to yours in Indiana. This is would interesting. We were both Band Directors in jr and sr. hi. and then we moved to lower grades. We loved most of it.

Bless your heart, it hit our family this month and still struggling with fatigue. I had to have the infusion, but it really helped. Thankful you are both better. BEAUTIFUL cutting board. I was a secretary and often used mimeograph machines in the early years, such memories, can still smell it.

It was interesting to hear about Linda’s grandma. She was quite a woman! I hadn’t thought about mimeograph machines in years. When we were given papers in school with blue print, the first thing everyone did was smell it. When I took office practice in high school, I had to learn how to use a mimeograph machine and actually used one on my first job. I had a coworker who lived in a retirement community in Ocala and they were awarded custody of their grandchildren. The neighbors were nice to let them live there while they were selling the house and buying another one in a regular community. After the kids were grown and moved away, they sold that house and moved back to the retirement community. I always enjoy your videos. I live in Ocala and could never afford to live there but enjoy the restaurants and shops.

My mom and I live in a courtyard villa in Fenney and love the lanai- we love our lanai and spend a majority of our days and nights out on the lanai. It’s screened in- not glasses in and we hear NOTHING other than the birds. We don’t hear cars, we don’t hear other people talking, we don’t hear TV’s or don’t smell any cigarettes/cigars!! We chose our home specifically to be far from a major road and freeway. We love it here!!!!

I always carried my golf clubs never covered them, never took them off except when I went grocery shopping. Even went to Walmart no problems I had a new set of R-11’s. One time I went to Walmart and the sun was shining when I came outside a big rainstorm came over and didn’t pull the cover from my golf cart over the clubs and I thought my clubs and bag would be drenched, somebody came by my cart and lowered my cover for me. I wish I could have thanked the person that did.it.

Hey Jerry! Hey Linda! Sorry to hear you guys got COVID. Karen and I got it just 2 weeks before our move to TV. Bad timing when you're packing and selling stuff. Funny, I did the Barry White thing too. ;) Glad you're feeling better. We drove 18 hours straight through from Texas [took a 5 hour nap at a hotel somewhere] and arrived last Thursday. Been unpacking and shopping for stuff. Not had time to do any "fun stuff" yet. But we did get to meet our neighbors, Angela and Mark, that you did a shout out on last week. Wonderful folks! :)

We were here during the tornado and the developer had the roofs tapped the next day and within 6 months all roofs and damage were repaired. People offered their homes to those who were displaced. Don’t think that would occur elsewhere

So glad you’re both on the mend. We almost signed on the dotted line (closing date was scheduled for 2/8), but the monthly expenses with the rising inflation costs really took me by surprise, so we backed out for now. As pending snowbirds I could not justify the cost so we bought a RV Motorhome and will travel when we can until we are fully retired. I still love The Villages and have several friends who live there. For now we will visit.

Jerry and Linda - For homesteaded property in Florida the annual increase in assessed value is limited to the CPI or 3% whichever is less so increases in property tax are limited at least based on assessed value. However, the taxing bodies can still increase the tax rate. This was an amendment to the Florida constitution in 1995 called Save Our Homes. This applies only if you have your homestead in Florida and is not transferred to a buyer of your home but some or all of the difference between the taxed assessed value and true value would be portable if you purchase another home in Florida.

So important to apply for Homestead Exemption first year after purchase. Real estate agents representing buyers need to point this out but in my experience they don't. I only know because I've been here most of my life. Rental property does not qualify and it is the reason for skyrocketing rent. People that rent think they do not pay property tax. Landlords pass it on to the renter.

We thought something was wrong there. Had a period of withdrawal on Thursday though. So we watched some earlier videos of you guys. We found out when we knew company would be visiting and our dog was looking for a little more attention. Before the visit we would go for a longer walk and then throw her tennis ball for a while. After that she was a little tired and chilled while we visited. So glad you guys are on the mend. Love the behind the scenes portion.

Sorry for your covid infection. We are having combined Flu and Omicron here. One of our vaccinated friends has this. Been 9 weeks of illness. Our daughter is vaccinated. Has tested positive 3 times in the last 12 months. She has been less sick each time. Glad you both healed. Would sure be lonely on Mondays without your videos.
