In addition to those 10 C2 idioms, I have also learned the expressions: "Grab your notebook and get the ball rolling", "hence", "We take so many things for granted", We should do our bit", "childhood" and "dig". Thank you Katia! By the way, yesterday I heard the expression "He's a chip off the old block!" Do you know what it means?

Hi, Katya. I am turning to you regarding the 7-th idiom, about "a soft spot". Is it obligatory to collocate the idiom only with a person? Can I use it for items such as watching Netflix or reading books or very delicious sweets? I've always had a soft spot for eating after 10 pm.
