It's not about wear it's about friction. As the teeth slip off eachother when they separate its addition fiction so it's a parasitic loss of power. I used to race bikes and if you clean your chain, bearings, and gears and lube them up on a race bike you will feel way less resistance when peddling. If you lube it with grease or chian wax it will have less friction and you get more power to the ground. I used to trash pick bikes and fix em up and give them to my friends. Most just need the bearings repacked and a new chain and tube. Friction always = power loss. Pro tip from a race winner

I never grease mine on any of my engines. I made the mistake of greasing that a long time ago on a China doll and it seeped to the friction plate and pads not so good for the clutch lol. So ignore that while going grease crazy on a dry friction clutch if the plates and clutch are greased use brake cleaner degreaser

Use tacky grease on the gears but don’t overdo it or excess grease might get on the clutch pads. Leaving the gears to run dry is like driving a truck with a manual transmission dry.

If the white wire gets grounded out, it will kill the engine. Try the idle adusting screw on the carb. Try turning it in a half a turn

Good to know because I didn't put any grease on my motor in that area neither. I honestly think it's better to just let it wear out and replace when necessary that it would probably take a long time for that to happen grease or not. Like you said it's probably the cheap casting materials they use and it tends to wear down. In another one of your videos as I stated in one of my comments about how I get a little bit of oil around the base of that crankcase just a little teeny bit is obviously not enough to let the clutch slip because if it was I'm sure I would notice it but with that be a poor crank seal? Or is it because of motor still breaking in and I was running that stupid 16:1 ratio before I did some research and found out that it's best to just run the20 to 1 ratio right from the get go otherwise you're going to get excessive oil all over the place it really doesn't play much of a role in it breaking in in my opinion. However I am running 24 to 1 right now would it be safe to back that off to 40 to one? And maybe that might stop the excess oil building up around the motor I get a little bit that comes around the exhaust not so much now that I've torque the bolts down and Loctite them but at the very base of the crankcase there's always a small drop of oil there and definitely got a lot of oil coming out of the exhaust too maybe not so much now that I've got the motor running again and I'm not flooding it trying to start it. So do you have any recommendations there? Is there something I should be worried about for down the road? Or is it something that this kind of normal for these motors and sometimes they do that and some of the motors don't also if this crank seal is bad that's obviously going to give me a vacuum leak right? Thank you for your time if you go ahead and give me any advice or recommendations you have. And once again thank you for the videos, they're very helpful 🙏

Now that's really surprising to see. I see grannies on these crappy old unmaintained bicycles with dry rusty chains and I always wondered how do they not fear the bike will fall apart underneath them, cause that's how I felt when riding such a bike especially uphill, and that one wasn't so bad. And then here I see a motorized bike in such condition and it works just fine... looks like these components deserve more credit than I give them huh. Come to think of it, after I put more grease on these gears, my own motorized bike stopped squeaking under load, and I kinda miss that sound cause it reminds me of racing cars with straight cut gears in the gearbox. I kinda hope I'll hear it return as the grease dries out.
