That liquid double dark combo is legit, gives a fantastic color pop to the lawn. Great video 👍

It’s hard to beat that’s for sure. Wait until you see what I’m doing this time. Doing a little deviated version of it.

@@TheLawnLover I’ve used molasses. But never in the double dark cocktail

@@lawnguy It works fantastic to make it even a deeper green. Also works great with the GreeneCharge

@@TheLawnLover I’ll add it next time I do a GreeneCharge app. It’s been way too hot here for me to hit it with a good dose of N.

It works great that's for sure. I've barely used anything this year other than N-ext liquid apps and holy moly my lawn is taking off. Took a couple years to really get enough humic into the soil (I was a baaaad case of really bad soil though) but now it's a dark rich color and the grass grows like it's mad at the ground.

This is super similar to the mix I make too... how fun! Looks great!

I have tall fescue grass and my grass has taken a hit this summer due to heat. It has now turned brown or dormant. Could I use the two recommended products you discussed on my lawn?
@lawnguy2 жыл бұрын
Yes. You can still use them. The thing you wanna try to avoid when you’re dealing with stressed out turf, is pushing growth with nitrogen heavy products. I would recommend adding a decent dose of potassium to your program. That’ll help with the overall health of the turf.

What type of tip do you use ? Is it more of a flood tip? or a fine spray tip?
@lawnguy2 жыл бұрын
It’s a fine mist tip. You want a good spray with small particles to attach and cling to the leaf Tissue. If it floods out too much, it’ll just go straight to the soil

my soil ph tested at about 7.2 which i am told makes it harder for the plant to utilize iron and turn dark. i am trying to lower it with a goal of an even 7.0 in mind
@lawnguy2 жыл бұрын
I also tend to have a little higher PH. I use 0-0-48 SOP (sulfate of potash). I do a few applications throughout the year and it seems to help with nutrient uptake. Also, tiger sulfate works well. But that one has a higher salt content, so you’d want to be careful on over application on the Tiger sulfur.

@@lawnguy thanks for the reply, I had used elemental sulfur, i'm going to see what difference, if any, it made in the fall, and make a plan for next year. thanks for the recommendations!

The great thing about this stuff is the citric acid in the 7-0-0 gives it foliar absorbtion....meaning doesn't matter what the ph is since it's not going through the roots. On the other hand, you have to apply every 2-3 weeks to keep the color....but you only need 6oz of each for the app.

@@mrwonkwonk I’ve even gone as far sometimes as to add chelated iron to the double dark mix and gives it an even bigger punch of iron. But just like anything, there’s a line on how much to put down before it starts causing negative effects. Too much iron can cause bad greying of the blades.

How often do you spray?
@lawnguy2 жыл бұрын
I do the double dark every 6 weeks or so. But I do other fertilizer treatments and bio stimulant applications at least once a month. Sometimes twice a month. Just depends on how my turf is doing and what it could use.

Best time of the year to use this combo? And temperature safe since here in Chicago we about to hit 90s
