The Dr. Gundry Podcast

Күн бұрын

If you’ve been following this channel for a while, you’ve probably witnessed Steven Gundry MD dispelling myths about “health” foods that are actually bad for you. But when was the last time you heard a doctor tell you to go ahead - eat that "junk food?"
Well... when it comes to chocolate - surprise! - Dr. Gundry wants you to do just that - go ahead and enjoy chocolate. Every day, if you'd like. But before you run to the grocery store and grab that Snickers bar - you NEED to watch this video. Because many “chocolate” makers are selling a product that’s loaded with milk and sugar instead of the polyphenol-rich cacao... and Dr. Gundry wants to make sure you know the good from the bad - for your health!
You see, REAL chocolate (unlike granola or frozen yogurt) is not attached to a temporary fad, and its health benefits have been embraced and proven by many cultures throughout history. So if you’re looking for a delicious way to boost your health, this episode is for you. Warning: do not watch on an empty stomach.

Thank you so much for this terrific information on chocolate, I love it! I have a question that perhaps you can address in a future episode or maybe you have already answered it... what gluten free grains can be be cooked in a pressure cooker to neutralize the lectins? I know you said oats and wheat and other grains containing gluten cannot be pressure cooked, but what about quinoa, buckwheat and other gf grains or seeds? Thanks for all your informative videos, they are so helpful!! I do have all your books btw, but I don't remember reading too much on the gf grains and pressure cooker.

Thanks for answering questions and giving me peace of mind. I used to be a huge fan of milk chocolate but switched to dark after I started Keto. Now I eat 85% and I love it. The problem with dark chocolate is that you can't find a bar without sugar in it, but the carbs were so low I bought them anyways. I can't find Lilly's - you're not the first one to say it's the best. Here we have Baker's; it has pieces of unsweetened chocolate but it's harder to calculate how much you can have and it's only 70%. Great for recipes, though. Thanks again for this video, Nicole

Love your work Dr. Gundry, I have two friends now reading your books and following the Plant Paradox programme! I some questions: Q1. Do you think its necessary to "Activate" nuts and seeds by soaking then dehydrating them to remove the other anti-nutrients? Q2. Would the pectin in home-made apple sauce help with a leaky gut, as suggested by Dr. Tom O'Bryan as I like to use natural remedies, instead of taking L-glutamine supplement as I'm worried that on my low protein days that it could stimulated m-TOR? Many thanks & Big hugs!

blended each day: a glass of water, three fresh garlic pieces, a piece of fresh ginger, a piece of turmeric, a half of fresh lemon. You will clean the blood vessels. Raw cocoa every day because it relaxes the blood vessels and antioxidants protect the internal artery , magnesium in an absorbable form, e.g. magnesium citrate. A lot of movement, omega 3 fat (e.g., walnuts, flax), no trans fat in the diet, no redundant fatty tissue, often a smile and your heart will be happy.

Dr. Gundry, I am a 71 years old male with BPH for more than 30 years. I'd been medicated with avodart but it only has aliviated the symptoms a bit. Nonetheless, cutting the lectins from my diet I'd got a lot better, in such a level that I eliminated the medication. My prostate is much less inflamated and I am able to urinate as in my ancient times. Is it possible that lectins were the origin of my problem?

Hi Dr. Gundry! Since you're a cardiologist, I have a question about building my immune system. I suffer from.headaches, allergies, ear pain after being outside. I heard about saunas. Ever since I remember, when I sit in a hot tub or sauna, my heart starts to pump and I get too hot really quickly. I have to get out of tub quickly. Immune system real low, I'm still anemic. Seasonal allergies, low blood pressure. Avoiding dairy and sugar as much as I can already. How can I get my lymph flowing if I cant use saunas? I take vitamin c, b vitamins, iron..

Oh Halleluiah!!! Thanks Dr. Gundry for this. I have been searching for the best cocoa powder. I love "bitter water", enjoyed by the Aztecs (l think...). It is made of a cup of hot water, cocoa powder and ceyene pepper. It has no sweetening at all. I love it. I am on a tight budget and love Hersheys, but wasn't sure if it's the healthiest version. Hello Dr. Gundry, thanks for your continued health advice. I have 2 questions. -You mentioned in chapter 9 of the Longevity Paradox a list of Resistant Starches "In Moderation" including sweet potatoes, persimmons, and jicama. Why "In Moderation"? I would assume one would want to eat resistant starches (prebiotics) as much as possible. -Would you recommend any supplements to take before going to bed (ex: Vitamin D, DHA, mushrooms) to aid the brain to rebuild itself during its glymphatic process, but without overstimulating the body and compromising a restful sleep experience? Thanks Dr. Gundry, I found (after much searching)an 82% cocao bar called Flagrants Desirs. Its imported from Spain and we get it at the Bulk Barn (Canada). Ingredients - cocoa mass, cocoa powder, cocoa butter, soya lecithin and natural vanilla flavour. No sugar (at least its not indicated on the label)! I think its the vanilla that's the key. Its great, but I do wonder about soya lecithin (it says soya on the label) (should be soy perhaps?). I know we should not have soy, but what about the soy (soya) lecithin??? Does soy lecithin contain lectins??? I am celiac and have refined my diet even more after reading your book. My nutritionist daughter (also lectin free) is a great resource for alternate (lectin free) baking ideas. She loves her baking. As a celiac, I was directed to steer clear of wheat, rye, oats and barley and directed to eat corn, rice and soy instead. Oh my, that's a recipe for bad health. Anyway, thanks for your insights and all you do. We celiacs really appreciate it.

I make my own chocolate treat by mixing cocoa powder, coconut oil and honey with a couple dashes of salt. I realize DrG doesn’t recommend honey but it’s what’s in the cupboard till I run out and try some monk fruit(?). I’ve never had it so don’t know if it’s a fluid or powdered substance?? Anyway homemade is much less expensive and you can make a single tablespoon or a gigantic batch. It’s nice to dip walnuts in and freeze for a hot day treat 🤗

Furthermore I wonder about your opinion on iodine, oxalates (for example in cacao, especially raw cacao), mold, mykotoxins, phytines (especially the question, whether nuts should be soaked) and the so called bulletproof coffee (and it's effects on intermittent fasting and autophagy).
