Strange was the the Sorcerer Supreme in the main universe, but he lost the position to Wong when he was dusted by Thanos for five years and Wong didn't. In Spider Man: No Way Home, both talked about Strange not being the Sorcerer Supreme anymore due to this factor.

@@user-op6kt8pg9y It's Strange's nature doing the things by his way and not by the book. He thinks that he can control all types of magic, even the dark magic, and won't get corrupted. He is what the Ancient One was in first movie, because both talk about respect the laws of the Multiverse by not conjuring dangerous spells, but if the situation demands it, they will trespass those laws in order to save the reality.

Until 2019, Marvel Studios legally (and ironically) couldn't use X-Men or even mention them or say the word "mutant" because 20th Century Fox held the film rights to them. However, after the Walt Disney company bought Fox's tv and film divisions, Marvel was able to take back the film rights to X-Men, Deadpool, and the Fantastic Four among other characters. As a result of the merger, the Fox corporation became their own thing. So they had to change the name of the tv and film studio. 20th Century Fox is now known as 20th Century Studios. Now that I got that out of the way, here's the real fun detail: My favorite part of this entire movie was hearing the reorchestrated opening track to X-Men: The Animated Series when Charles arrived. Patrick Stewart previously portrayed Charles Xavier/Professor X in the X-Men live-action films, but this version of Charles is not the same incarnation. 838-Charles is pretty much a merger of both the animated series and the live-action films. He's even wearing the same suit and riding the same hoverchair as his counterpart from the cartoon. X-Men: The Animated Series ran for five seasons from 1992 to 1997, but now Marvel Studios is producing a sixth season set to premiere fall 2023. It'll be under the name X-Men '97. Most of the original voice cast is returning, and a seventh season is already underway. In fact, the success that the X-Men cartoon had was the reason that 20th Century Fox had decided to create their film series to begin with. I recommend checking them out sometime. Most of them are really good. In other news, a Fantastic Four film is in development now and it will premiere on Friday, November 8th, 2024. Until recently, MCU Spider-Man director Jon Watts was supposed to direct this new film. Instead, he'll be taking a sabbatical from superhero films until it's time to work on the MCU's fourth Spider-Man entry. In the meantime, he's also gonna work on a Star Wars project. Speaking of Spider-Man, they're gonna bring No Way Home back to theaters this September. This time, it'll be an extended cut known as the More Fun Stuff Version. Black Bolt is from the Inhumans show that unfortunately didn't do so well, but words like inhuman and terrigen are all the more reason you should watch Marvel's Agents of SHIELD at least during your free time. It's seven seasons long, but the characters of the show make it all the more enjoyable.

My daughter was brought up on the X-Men cartoon series (and Xena and Buffy). Her only disappointment was that we couldn't get hold of the female X-Men action figures. (The usual nonsense.)

Regarding inhumans: Marvel only chose to prop up inhumans because they didn't have the rights to mutants. In fact, a certain character on a Disney+ show, who is an inhuman in the comics, was revealed to be a mutant. AoS was surprisingly good after some initial growing pains. But it's not worth watching just to learn about inhumans. Marvel seems poised to go the mutant route going forward.

This film is so different from anything MCU has ever offered. I think that's why people are very polarized by this. I love Sam Raimi's works and Tim Burton, I guess that's why this film hits me like ton of bricks. Every viewing I find new things. And you have to admit even if you don't like the film, the battle with music and notes is some of the most unique and visually appealing fights in MCU.

Well, you are right about that. The reason is in fact what you said. BUT, you could also read that Strange wasn't in fact good enought to be the sorcerer supreme because of him arrogance. It's not unreasenable to think that, since his first movie was all about him being an arrogant prick. We also see that aparently in all the other universes Strange takes things into his own hands and end up causing catastrophes. So Strange wasn't good enought, he wasn't ready. And loosing the title could be partially what he needed to become worthy of it. We could say that this is what had to happen. That the mistical forces worked well to make the sorcerer supreme the sorcerer supreme by not making him the sorcerer supreme. Both Wong and Strange knows that the technicanily only made Wong a technical sorcerer supreme and that Strange is the one, but it is a constant reminder to Strange that he is not a God, entitle to do whatever he wants. (and also gives room for several jokes XD). Again, analising just the facts, you are no wrong. But this is all about magic, right? I like this secound interpretation too. Although I also agree that Wong is amazing. There is no wrong with sorcerer supreme Wong!

Dear Marijchu, my wife and I were engaged only for seven weeks. We were both in our late 30s, and we had a choice of having a short engagement and a Christmas wedding, or waiting until the summer to get married. We were sick of being single, so we had the simplest, most basic, least expensive wedding we could plan. I spent more than half the money on bouquets for the bride and her bridesmaids. If it hadn't been for the flowers, our wedding would have cost about $500.00 in 1998. Still, those seven weeks of engagement were a blur. I had no idea what was going on, because in the US, girls know about weddings, and guys sort of know nothing. Anyway, I remember what it felt like to be engaged, and to be looking forward to my wedding. I wish you all the best.

The food cart guy at the end after credit scene was the Legendary Bruce Campbell. He's one of the staples of a Sam Rami, who directed this. They also teamed up in the first first two Spider-Man movies (with Tobey McGuire). He was the ring announcer at the wrestling match. The scene at the cart where his own hand attacked him was a callback to Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness, both were zombie movies starring Campbell and directed by Rami. Army of Darkness is the thirds in the Evil ded series, but it had a much lighter tone and is considered a horror-comedy as opposed to straight horror. A LOT of the scenes in this movie were "trademarks" from Rami. If you don't know his other work, it looked like an odd choice, but for those who have followed him for decades, they were a fun little easter egg. You don't need to see the others before Army of Darkness, and you specifically probably wouldn't like the first two all that much anyway. Army of Darkness is a good time, with a lot of great lines.

It is my last response to that comparison. Everything, Everywhere, All at Once is whole movie, self contained. It starts and ends and that's it. On the other hand, this movie is part of bigger picture, like episode of tv series, which named as Multiverse saga. So comparing these two movies are wrong. Everything, Everywhere, All at Once is amazing movie, and this, as separate story, which will tie up with whole, was very well acted, well shot and creatively made movie. If you wont promote Everything, Everywhere, All at Once, it's your choice, but, these two movies have nothing to compare to each other.

The X-Men films are certainly worth watching but I wanted to point out that even though he's played by Patrick Stewart this Charles Xavier isn't the one from the films he's the one from the animated series. That's why they play the animated theme when he enters. Also in the wedding he mentioned the cats first so there would be a laugh line, then you get a gut punch when he says he lost his brother too. I disagree with the editor. Seeing Charles Xavier show up in an MCU movie with the theme to the 90s X-men cartoon was not a "little payoff". I agree that it's probably not worth watching the Inhumans or the Fantastic Four movies. But some of these payoffs are worth it. I saw a reaction the other day to No Way Home and the reactor had only seen the first and second Raimi Spider-Man movies. Definitely not the same reaction without the context.

Totally agree. One of my favorite reactors led his wife through the MCU and Fox movies and now she's almost as big a fan as he. It's that payoff that makes the journey worth it all. Mary will never have that moment back.

Well I didnt tell her not to watch them. I gave her a list including all Marvel movies in Order and told her which belong to which franchise. The final decision is always Marys though. I'm just editing. If she wants to be caught up and watch Xmen later without the comments asking all the time where Doctor Strange is, thats absolutely valid imo :) Same with daredevil in No Way Home :) For me it was a big payoff I shed a tear in theaters bc I grew up with Marvel movies. my note in the video was just rather short bc i didnt want to interrupt the flow of the video ;) Hope you still enjoyed the reaction!

I agree that NWH is served by seeing the other Spider-Man movies. I don't think the X-Men connection is the same thing. If she had watched the first X-Men, that would've probably been good enough to get the impact of the moment; I don't think the joy of seeing it would meaningfully change between that and seeing the other nine or ten X-Films.

@@tylerfoster6267 Yeah. I would have thrown the first X-Men movie and maybe the first Fantastic Four.. and THEN Dr Strange 2 and she could go back and watch the rest.. as well as Daredevil..

Some of Wanda's fans felt that this movie betrayed the healing she got in Wandavision but they are wring she did heal from the lost of Vision and the boys obsession was created by using the Darkhold which corrupt anyone that use it. There will be more to Wanda's tragic story which I'm hoping in the Agatha Disney Plus series Agatha will help Wanda locate her sons souls that went into other young teenagers bodies and Agatha asca tracking spell to find them for Wanda which they will be on a journey together on Agatha series and the villain might be Nightmare who was sent by Mephisto because Wanda destroyed all the Darkhold across the Multiverse which put evil across the Multiverse out of balance. Nightmare will attack both Wanda and Agatha.

This movie is EXTREMELY overhated in my opinion. It’s not my favorite MCU movie by any means, wouldn’t even crack my top 5. But a lot of the criticisms I’ve seen people provide for this movie since it’s release (not all of, but a high %) seem to be very nit picky criticisms or just things they didn’t like because it’s not what they expected. Now sure you could make genuine criticisms such as pacing, writing choices for certain characters and stuff. But I honestly love the pacing and it feels chaotic, just like the story. And there’s a lot of comics juiciness in this film that not only was relevant here, but MAJORLY setting up the future of the MCU which I loved (from teases to future groups coming in the MCU, Chthon name drop, mention of incursions which is from Hickman’s Secret Wars and so on). While Wanda is most definitely a main character here, I think far too many people are missing the very clear character development Strange has from beginning to end. It’s a character study in a lot of ways for him when you really analyze it deeper. The consistent theme being about “holding the knife”. One of the most important scenes in the film no one mentions is the conversation between Strange and Dr. West at the beginning. West mentions how although yes everyone from the snap was brought back, he provided a very personal and humane look at how the snap effected people. He said that in the time he was gone, he lost people in his family (including his cats lol). And he shows that the everyday person in the MCU could look at the events very differently, wondering if it DID have to happen that way. This is where Strange’s journey across the multiverse meeting/learning about his other variants comes in. They serve as a self reflection for Strange as a character to grow beyond them at the end. The contrast between Defender Strange going to kill America for her power, but our Strange doesn’t. Illuminati Strange doing what he felt was “the only way” to defeat Thanos, resulting in the Annihilation of a whole universe. And then Sinister Strange as well. All these variants provide a deep self reflection for his character, the choices he makes, and how to grow BEYOND his variants. Realizing that he doesn’t always have to hold the knife. Of course Wanda is amazing as well and had a lot of development cuz well, she’s the co Star and main antagonist lol. But the point is, Strange has clear development from beginning to end, which is also exemplified through him bowing to Wong. Yes Strange was humbled in many ways in the first film, but he’s always still had that arrogance about him. And clearly after coming back, he hasn’t been content with his place in the universe with Wong as Sorcerer Supreme and not him. He had multiple instances in NWH and MoM where he appeared clearly annoyed about it, and thus didn’t follow ancient customs. But yet at the end of MoM, he shows more humility and contentment than ever by bowing to Wong. This comment has become way too long, but I just wanted to provide some of how I interpreted this film 🤣. Overall in terms of MCU movies I’d probably give it an 8.5/10, and it hovers somewhere around my 8-11 ish area for the MCU projects. I really really do like it a lot for what it was. Was it fully what I was expecting? Definitely not. But I went in with an open mind, not expecting cameos galore and being in like dozens of universes, and as a result I really enjoyed it, and have liked it more every time I’ve watched it

best multiverse film out there imo is easily this year's "Everything Everywhere All At Once" ... i've been a Dr Strange fanboy since the late 80s, but credit where credit is due. "Everything Everywhere..." is also a Russo brothers production too. it's a real mind-blower in the best way.

It's nice to see Charlize Theron in the MCU but she really should have been in Captain Marvel, she would have been a pitch perfect Carol Danvers. A strong female lead, without being snarky and/or a little bit toxic (ahem, not naming names here).

None of the Fantastic Four movies were very good so not missing much there. But they are some of the most popular comics and John Krazinski was such a perfect cast it was exciting. Similar, Professor X didnt directly call to anything in the xmen movies, but Marvel basically saying we can pull any of these properties into the MCU is awesome. They did that with No Way Home showing the Sony stuff can get used now too.

The What If episode of Doctor Strange foreshadowed that he and Christine would never be togethet in any universe, since it was point that cannot be changed. Strange tried everything but Christine either die or was scared of him or married someone else like in this movie or have to split up because of the two being from different universes with different duties.
