The funny thing about the Tom Baker scene (which of course ISN'T actually Tom's voice on the phone) is that they genuinely couldn't get in touch with him to be in this special!

Actually, the funny part is that they used the same stock footage from when Tom refused to appear in the 25th reunion.

I thought it was funny that David Tennant's father in law wrote a script where David Tennant forgets the birth of his daughter because he was filming Doctor Who and aiding his father in law's shenanigans, but what makes it even funnier was that Peter Davidson also forgot the birth of his granddaughter because he was off doing said Doctor Who shenanigans.
@commenterjosh24283 жыл бұрын
Doctor Who is more important than family, and in some cases a family forms due to Doctor Who, like in the case of the Tennants.

Yeah....and Tom was Brilliant in it. He has been able to do some panels with Sylvester, Peter and David since the 50th anniversary special. Probably would do more but Tom has been open about his knees bothering him to a certain degree now. He took a fair amount of physical punishment as the Doctor, especially taking some hard falls in some of the episodes. He enjoyed the physical comedy aspect of the role sometimes and now its catching up to him.
@TheatreJosh246013 жыл бұрын
And Tom has been doing a wonderful job reprising his role as the Curator over the past few years! I've really enjoyed hearing him in Big Finish, and I kind of prefer the Curator over the Fourth Doctor (although my exposure to the Fourth Doctor is currently extremely limited; I'll get around to watching and listening to more of his stories eventually).

Is there actually a half hour video of the Five ish Doctors? I’ve only found a few 4min maximum videos on KZbin… like the deleted scenes, the trailer, the tribute, the swearing/bleeping video, the quotation video, and seemingly the five ish doctors main 3min ish video… If there’s a longer video I’d really appreciate any information you have available about how to find it/who might have posted it/what’s the actual title (since several things pop up when I search for “the five ish doctors”)/etc… I don’t actually need all that information but even if it’s only one piece of information it’d greatly help me narrow things down… Either way, thank you for the hope that there might be a different longer five ish doctors video than what I’ve already been able to find…

Loved the whole thing; but I was particularly pleased to see Sean Pertwee and David Troughton in it, representing their fathers. The gag that got me was Peter Davison's daughter eating the ice cream. At first, I was laughing, because she appeared to be avoiding her father's call, trying to get into the special, then it dawned on me that she was eating the ice cream, with a celery stalk, the symbol of her father's tenure, as the Doctor. Nice subtle joke. I also like that it is Janet Fielding who bursts his dream bubble.

The 50th Should have had the classic era doctors in it. We've gone and done multiple Doctors in the past and frankly some of those are the best Doctor Who episodes. For example, despite how poor Colin's run was (not his fault but the writers), the Two Doctors sticks out to me as possibly his best performance and the funnest episode. When Peter Davidson came back as the 5th in that special with David, it was almost like he hadn't left the roll. I'd have loved to see the classic era doctors in the episode. And it could have avoided the Zygons which I felt held little influence on the plot as a whole except just to be an enemy for them to fight.
