True, they shouldn't be 'sing talking' and it didn't help the director just let them do whatever for the songs so there was no sync with the music and the actors. The muscisians were simply trying to predict how the actors were singing and trying to keep pace. Why the heck did they allow the director to make another musical movie. Its a song so SING it...and do it on rythem at the mercy of the musicians not the other way around.

I was watching Naruto, and him saying "BELIEVE IT!" was so utterly grating. so I went to the sub, which his use of dattebayo was much less irritating. Never went back. Now later in life, my hearing has started to fail due to years of abuse to my ears. So I watch everything with subs now, whether I can hear it or not.

34:00 and thats why for most people the best scene was Skimbleshanks the rail road cat because it had dancing that wasn't too often interupted by ridiculous attempts at humor or talking. Just do the dance and singing and don't intrupt it!

My favourite James Corden movie is the one he personally hates the most. Lesbian Vampire Killers. The character he puts on in everything is the right character for that movie. I'd love to know what you guys think of that. It's so bad in so many ways, but has so many redeeming features too. Its my favourite B movie.

one thing that people don't realize with cats, it started life as a song cycle based on some poems, it was turned into a musical for money i assume.

No, it was because Andrew Lloyd Weber like cats and read TS Elliott's collection as a child. Investors didn't think it would have worked. The musical was a labor of love. The movie was an overly expensive experiment in forcing a narrative, any narrative, into a movie. And it was made to attract an audience of "young females" around the time a Star Wars film was released. That's the cash grab.

So they took trash theater and decided it would make a good movie. Just because the tickets cost a lot of money, doesn't make the play good. It's kind of like people buying caviar and forcing themselves to "like it" and then saying it's wonderful because they think it makes them seem cultured. I got the movie for a friend and said, "Let's see what all the fuss is about." Five minutes later (or less) I was watching reruns of Big Bang Theory.
