As someone who has stormed out of yoga classes angrily over the years this is so validating!!! So stoked for the homework. Thank you.

Thank you! I love your content. I’ve tried over and over to learn yoga but have not committed. I’ve tried a beginner course last month and I am amazed how much of a difference working with my psychologist through somatic experiencing and having a trauma informed instructor has made. I am able to me more present in the movements and aware of my body. I can notice my limits and I can also laugh at myself when I am clumsy or uncoordinated. It definitely is a combination of all things that has enabled me to learn yoga. Thank you again

I feel so bad for being one of the people asking you about this or that right after I found your work - but after answers from people on your team & listening more to you - I’m getting it - there won’t ever be any of the outside modalities to “cure” trauma - it will be an ongoing healing from within. I will still use random modalities for quick fixes if I need it - but I understand that’s not long term healing - it can help with the process but I’m not looking outside myself any longer for the answer - oddly even though it seems like more work - it is a relief

I am recently following you, dear Irene. It was since the Embodiment Conference that I say “Wow, how crystal clear this expert is talking about things I’m starting to get understand”. I’m from Mexico and I’m almost finishing my Shin Somatics East West Certification as Somatic Therapist and Somatic Yoga Instructor. I’ll definitively stay following you because I’m connecting my own experience of movement and my teaching experience as Therapeutic and Restorative Yoga Instructor. Amazing video, amazing teacher, and so amazing person. Thanks a lot!!!

You speak to some of my experiences. When I was younger I was a dancer and did yoga and stayed active naturally. I now realize I was instinctively finding ways to regulate myself. When I hit 40 and unpacked my trauma, I stopped *wanting* to do the things that make me feel better. When I do them, sometimes they work, but sometimes they actually make me feel worse. They never work as well as they used to before I realized I was abused; it's very frustrating. I also have fallen into a cycle of beating myself up for not doing my self care.

Hi Jenn W, Jen here from Team Lyon. I hear your frustration, and know that these relationships can shift and change as we grow nervous system capacity and regulation and heal trauma. Self compassion is key as we are on this healing path. I'll link to two of Irene' resources that may be of interest. kzbin.info/www/bejne/n2SnfGR8ZbB2itk kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKCzgKB3l5Zjbtk

And to add the icing on the cake of the whole physical education class anxiety over testing as the determination of your physical about fitness was the dread of changing in the locker room, open showers and of course the bully girls who mocked incessantly. Ugggh

Im living in flight mode. And I started to do yoga and I had more anxiety and panic atacks. So I stoped. First I though that I was doing wrong, but it is not. I could do training, it was not about it. It was owerwhelming expirience.

Thank you for the helpful video. I have ptsd from catching Covid. Now I’ve got multiple food intolerances (MCAS) so I guess I’m in fight or flight mood.. I’m starting trauma sensitive yoga to see if it helps.

Do you make consultation for a strategic process?
@IreneLyon Жыл бұрын
The Water Prophet, Jen here from Team Lyon. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by strategic process, and Irene does not offer 1-1 consultations these days. In addition to 000's of free videos, she created an online course, program and classes to teach people how to do this work themselves. I'll share links to these offerings in case you'd like to learn more. If you are looking to consult with someone 1-1, let me know as I can link to a related video of Irene's and also to some sites where you can search for a practitioner. PLEASE TELL THIS TO THE TRE COMMUNITY. As a tre provider I wish the TRE community was more open minded about this. TRE is great but you NEED to check your clients nervous system FIRST. TRE TRAINERS have too much ego. Most of them anyway
