What kind of dog is Whiskey?

​@ttephi3667 Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, or toller for short. Duck tolling is when the dog lures the ducks or geese in with its playful antics and unusual color (like a fox) and white markings. Once the birds are in range, the hunter stands and they take flight. The dog then retrieves any that were shot. The tips of tollers' trails are usually white to catch the interest of the birds. There's more to all of this - just Google for more. Sorry if this is more info than you wanted, but when I first learned Whiskey's breed, I had to learn more about it, especially since I didn't know what "tolling" was.

What a good girl! 🥰 Our dog was the same with both of our kids. Later, when they were both diagnosed with autism, she became their unofficial therapy dog. She lived to be 14 and was a great dog. (I'm convinced she sent us our current dog, who is also amazing with our kids. ❤️)

I had a German Shepherd, Gemma who i introduced to my son by putting Bonio biscuits in my babys pram. We stayed silent and let the dog rummage and find the biscuits without being told off. She was then happy as newborn baby bought her biscuits. Gemma was the very best furbabe to my sons. Actually my oldest son turns 30 years old on the 13th July 2024. It really doesn't feel that long ago. Such a beautiful dog and the first one I ever had. My mother in law was expecting me to rehome my dog because i was having a baby and i was mortified. My Gemma was my furry baby before my human baby came along. Sadly she only lived to being 9 years old as she had inherited hip dysplasia which broke my heart. She was quite young when started showing signs of it but she still loved running on the beach but my husband and I would have to lift her back legs back into the car.
