I'm speaking from a 37 year old perspective, which isn't really very old, but when reading a book it's all about getting different perspectives for me. I don't care about the age, because we are all human beings and everyone of us has a different experience in life and I'm always curious to learn more about the lives of other people and what they have to say. I can totally understand though, that you hesitate to put your novel out there, because there were times when I looked back at my silly little self and thought that I was so naive and all that stuff, which is true, I was naive, but the older I get, the more I think that I haven't changed so much, when it comes to feelings and thoughts. I was just unsure of them, unsure of myself. Not sure how to express them in an incisive way and if they are valid, because I haven't lived enough to really be sure if my experience has a solid point, a solid ground it's standing on. Since the age of 30 this feeling more and more vanishes and I'm more and more reconnecting with my silly little self and telling myself that yes, infact I was very much right about most things I thought back then. Just not enough experience to validate that, not enough peers that could mirror my perspective and thoughts, not enough voices, which could echo my feelings. Now I know I wasn't so silly after all. Still silly in a way, but we are all silly in some kinda way I guess. Just silly little humans trying to figure out life at all times and that is why it's so important to hear many different perspectives from many different human beings :) Coming full circle with my silly little pseudophilosophical rambling, hope it made any sense, haha

I'm really interested in the theme of your novel. I've been writing mine for two years as well, couldn't stop tinkering with it. And now I've recently had a revelation and decided to start the whole thing over again (can you tell it's my first? I was always mostly a poet). At some point though, we've got to push that baby out into the world!

I absolutely adore the concept of your novel, however while you were starting to talk about it I couldn’t help but think about Marai’s Embers. It’s an amazing book that talks about the encounter of an old aristocrat and his childhood’s friend. I love how that novel describes an interesting, codependent friendship that the reader can see devolve and continuously change. It’s an intense monologue, with unexpected turns of events and the plot seems to completely change direction in every page. It touches themes of growth, difference between classes, envy, murder. It surely reminded me of the secret history, for the morbid relationships between brother like characters and the queer subtexts. I would absolutely recommend it, even though i believe your novel is going to take a more vampiresque turn.
