I have to wonder if Alyssa Milano demanded Phoebe be given empathy because 1. It made it easier to put the focus on her and 2. Prue had it for 1 episode, (Primrose Empath in season 3) and it made her a complete badass. Something it never did for Phoebe.

I can only remember four times they mentioned Phoebe's advice onscreen. One, when Elise tells her to rewrite it because she could get them sued (Long Live The Queen, season 4) two, when Paige pointed out Phoebe recycled advice, leading to Phoebe's sabbatical (A Call To Arms, season 7) three (A Witch In Time, season 5) when Piper and Paige are basically calling her an idiot for falling for a guy too fast and not recognizing it's a rebound thing after Cole, after advising a reader on a very similar circumstance, suggesting it was a bad idea. And 4, season 8 episode 11, Mr and Mrs Witch, the episode where Phoebe moves out, one week after Leo was taken away from Piper. I'm sure there are more but I can't think of them offhand. How she managed to stay employed there for 4 years is a mystery to me. Leo used telekinesis in season 1, Wicca Envy, to look for the tiara in the attic, so yes.

Chris does have telekinetic powers similar to Prue later on once he's revealed as being a witch. Making it one of the very few things in later seasons of Charmed that do carry through. But given that the first half of season 6 heavily paints him as doing a lot of evil things... I'm pretty much in the conspiracy camp that says he was meant to be some version of the Phoebe and Cole baby that she lost at the end of Season 4. (Hence why he's evil! Because genetics make you evil! Except when they don't!) But then when HMC got pregnant, they decided to make him Piper and Leo's kid instead.

Actually no, because they previously stated telekinesis combines with orbing in hybrid children, and that's why Paige has telekinetic orbing. They also said hybrid children couldn't be born in hospitals because they come to the world swaddled with orbs (as they shown with Wyatt). But then Chris is born in a hospital! My childhood favourite show being ripped to shreds is very funny to me as an adult because I'm now able to acknowledge the flaws and the nonsense especially post season 4. God God, did it get bad when Constance Burge left the creative team. This season was a clusterfuck of mediocrity and it was at that time when i started losing interest in the series. Phoebe used to be my favourite sister but yes, drag her to the pits of hell for how obnoxious she became after she landed that columnist job 😂 My theory is Alyssa Milano was so envious of having the Carrie Bradshaw role she started morphing Phoebe into a Walmart version of Carrie , ten times more annoying than the original role.

i remember the writing for chris was so inconsistent. he was supposed to the bad guy.. then a love interest for paige or phoebe.. then future wyatt. then nope piper & leo's second son. and i was surprised that this wasn't the episode that darryl didn't walk away from the sisters. they risked his life directly. later on in the trial it was demons and it makes him hate the sisters but this was more directed by the sisters.

What a surprise that this is the kind of person who wrote for the OG series! Weirdly, he forgot to mention that in version 2 where the reboot sisters someone survive Piper's hand waves long enough to explain who they are, they are immediately coerced into taking over all demon fighting duties and rearing their 17 children so that our beloved OG sisters can DATE DATE DATE! The Elders are really trying to kill the Charmed Ones but, like everything else they do, they just keep failing horribly. I am sure each episode of this show is just the Elders trying to get rid of the Charmed Ones and the demons are just innocent bystanders of the ineptness of their leaders on both sides.

I love when you guys rip into charmed! They're playing reruns here in New Zealand and we're at the first half of season six. That episode you talked about, where Paige saves some guys soul from being auctioned off...SO infuriating. Piper couldn't stop nagging about how Paige 'put them all in danger' when, in reality, the only life she put on the line was her own. Literally. And Phoebe...it's all true. Her self-absorbed tangents are just as bad as you said. Why did the writers do this? These three women were their biggest money-makers, yet it seems like they're going out of their way to make Phoebe seem like the shittiest person on the planet.

Weirdly enough Charmed does include kinda bargain-bin version of Lord of the Rings elves in the last couple of seasons (pointy ears, bows and lots of peasant dresses, for whatever reason) but never explains what they are supposed to be. By the time the Charmed Ones became the Valhalla bimbos, the show was so far removed from what the show initially was. About the concerts on the beach sponsored, in part, by radio stations, that happens a lot during the Summer (or did outside of the COVID days) on coastal Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida. I would imagine that would happen on California and Mexican beaches as well. They would film and broadcast the concerts if they were able to get the rights though that is rare, usually it is a DJ or two on the beach at the concert reporting back to the station.

I’ve been meaning to leave this comment but I’ve been pretty busy until now but here it goes I actually REALLY like the idea of phoebe having this power I just think the execution was extremely poor When Prue had the empath powers it almost killed her the weight of feeling EVERYONES emotions was overwhelming. In real life people say that kinda thing all the time it’s why things like a trauma dumping and generally over sharing one’s emotions is not seen a good thing . The weight of our own emotions can be overwhelming so being able to feel everyone else’s I honestly don’t blame phoebe for “ complaining about it “ especially when it’s new and she can’t control it All that being said I agree that they don’t do anything interesting with it . This really should have been somthing they gave phoebe to connect with innocents on a deeper level and they don’t do that

What's more hilarious, Joey Falco (series writer and co-producer from s1-4 and s4 showrunner) did an interview explaining all the plans they had for a season 5 crossover with OG Charmed. And that the reboot trio were supposed to meet Pheobe in the manner.
