I used to raise chickens. When there is no male, some hens will butch up and have a few squabbles until one prevails as dominant. That hen then tales over the roosters job. Not sure if that makes them a trans rooster or not.... But yeah hens will do that.

What I know of Biology: it often messes up. Eyes don't work, arms are underdeveloped, other parts have issues for life. What I also know of Biology: it's very fragile & millions of tiny things have huge impacts, which take decades to discover. Like, how long it took us to find out the effects of asbestos on human lungs, the effects of nicotine on the human body, the effects of caffeine on the human body, & so on. Right now we're still trying to figure out the long-term effects of microplastics on the human body.

And, who the _h311_ do these people think they are, redefining what "lesbian" means right out from under all of the Gen-X lesbians and invalidating their identities. And I say that it's deranged because these same people who are invalidating the identities of their own LGBT+ elders turn around and _demand_ that others not invalidate their identity. 🤦♂

Chicken is the popular term for the specific species and the sex names are Hen and Rooster. They are both chickens because they are the same species. What came first, the chicken or the egg? (spoiler - correct answer in the replies)
@aprilk1416 сағат бұрын
Because each generation has some amount of mutations the parents do not have, the fertilized chicken egg was the first chicken. However drawing a speciation line from one generation to the next is not accurate or very valuable.
@John_WeissСағат бұрын
@@aprilk141 Every offspring is the same species as its parent. By definition. All you can do is draw 2 lines in time and say, "Before line 1 [the earlier line], we had Species A. The disconnect with acceptance while saying something that show the opposite I think is quite common! My father and I once discussed a trans man that was pregnant, that ended with him rambling on about how accepting he was, while saying that you cannot be a man and be pregnant. How he would play with the child but the trans man would not be a man and so on and so on! I think it's because most people know that acceptance is the "right thing to do", and want to hold on to how they perceive the world. And when that create a contradiction their try to hold on to both.

Transgender people are being banned from our military, trans Healthcare is being banned for all people under the age of 19, there is an executive order right now to that states if a teacher respects a students gender identity the school could lose federal funding. Bringing up the whole "people who will be transphobic the moment they don't like you," thing, I've met people like that, right, and I think it comes from a place of just wanting to be mean in that moment. It's them WANTING to be rude, awful, etc, and they just grab the very first brick they can find because they know it WILL do at least a little bit of damage. They, themselves, may not be "Transphobic"™(or any other list of hateful things), but they are very willing to make a transphobic [homophobic, racist, etc] remark if they don't like a specific given person. I cannot imagine being so upset with someone as to go that low, to take such a boring route to insult someone, but the people who i met who do that are fairly aggressive people so take that as you will.

I just wanted to share some thoughts on the trans people having children and being situationally phobic topics. I have a trans male friend that loves babies and has always wanted to be a parent. He recently told me he’s pregnant and I could not be more excited for him. I have however, witnessed several things that break my heart since his announcement. Several people who have used his correct pronouns previously have reverted to calling him “she”, or commented that it’s weird to say “he is pregnant”. I get that for people who are phobic or just don’t know any trans people that might sound a little strange at first, but these are people who know my friend. They know he’s trans. They know he’s always wanted to be a parent. The fact that he’s pregnant doesn’t change his pronouns. It does not change the fact that his is a man.

So I have this question for Jami and other trans viewers. Would you consider me rude/mean/ maybe even transphobic if my default when speaking to or about a trans individual to call them either just man or woman. In my mind I am understanding they are trans but if I was speaking to a trans man I would just say he is a man. In my brain they have always been a man they just transitioned their body to the correct/more appropriate one. I don't want to invalidate their journey but part of the reason my brain does this is because I know people can choose to be mean if they heard/learned someone is trans. So I just call them what they are. Sorry if it doesn't make much sense my brain is having a hard time explaining something it does naturally. TLDR- since I naturally see trans individuals at their sex (woman/man) I call them as such without adding on trans. Is this considered rude or possibly invalidating?

hi, trans man here. i don’t mind being called a man. i’d rather you call me a man than a trans man, but that’s just me. i’ve always been a man, and my path to discovering that is irrelevant. i’m as much of a man as any other man, cis or trans. but ultimately, i think it’s up to the preference of the individual.

I'd say you're going about it the correct way. ❤ Just "man" is perfect for me. Bringing up that someone is trans is only necessary when it's relevant to the conversation, otherwise it's not important. Also, like you said, sometimes strangers just don't need to know. 😅

You're doing fine. As Purg and dragon have already expanded upon.

This is the exact right way. I don't think that any trans person would consider it invalidating. In fact, it's actually the most validating thing of all, since it means you see them as not meaningfully different from their cis counterparts.

@LoremIpsum-dp1li thank you for letting me know. I don't have many contacts in the community anymore so I just wanted to ask in a place I knew was safe. I hope they have the same feeling that I get as a nonbinary and someone uses either one. The feeling of just being yourself. 😄 I hope one day all those who choose to be hurtful will change.

The Albert Einstein argument isn't a bad one - it wasn't very well expressed but the idea that 'stating that you are something doesn't make it so' is relevant to whether, for example, 'trans women are women' is a meaningful statement.

I played hay day when I was a kid with my dad. It was before the ads and the sponsors. It's nice to see things from my childhood.
