I love your videos Jason! I’m a Canadian born Chinese… I’ve never got to experience or understand my own culture, the country, and it’s tradition, but I do try to follow it as much as I can. I truly want ppl to understand China as much as me, and your videos have opened a whole new perspective of China. Ppl need to open up especially ppl living in the West, listening to the propaganda that the Western news, social media, and platforms which orchestrated by the western government. I am disgusted and appalled by the ppl who are so distorted just by absorbing only the materials provided by the narratives of our government rather than experiencing and seeing for themselves. I hope countries could come together and know there will be differences, but we don’t need to live in hostility, or engage with war. US is a war mongering country and it’s despicable that ppl still don’t see that with their own eyes! Nato is just a proxy for the US to go against Russia. We’re living in a sad world! Hope your videos continue to bring peace, harmony, and understanding to all your viewers!

I rented a bicycle and did not realise the tyres were almost flat until it was too far to turn back to ask to change another bike. It was like forever to finish the ride on a bicycle with flat tyres... But, truly, it was a great experience riding on the fabulous wall! Thanks for the memory. (Msg from Malaysia)

6:52. One of the popular inaccuracies about Xi’an City Wall is that it was “built” during Hongwu’s reign during the Ming Dynasty, when in fact it was expanded to the east and north during the 1370s to create the present 13.8 kilometre perimeter. The section you walked from the South Gate to the West Gate is the original location of the southern and western sides of the imperial city wall built during the Sui-Tang in 582. Interestingly, you walked right overtop the remaining remnants of that Sui-Tang original imperial city wall at Zhuque gate, where there is a lovely air-conditioned museum built inside the wall and most likely an exit! Cheers!

Curiosity: This wall is a "new wall" built during 12th and rebuilt/reformed many times into the Qing (last dynasty). During its heydays as Chang'an (capital of Tang, 7th to early 10th centuries), Xi'an had a even bigger wall, more than six times the inner size of the wall of the video. This wall used to encircle a city of more than 1M citizens, with many more minor walls dividing insides "neighborhoods". This was the great city of the ancient Silk Road and the architecture of the city inspired Korea and Japan.

This is a serious questions with ambiguity, what do you mean you haven't seen Nick in China for a long time and don't know what happened to him? First of all, you should try to contact Nick yourself and find out what happened to him. Secondly, there are more and worse things happening outside of China, and your question itself is guided by regional discrimination, making it hard not to connect you with ulterior motives

Just guessing here, but could the lack of exits be an intentional design? For instance, in the event the enemy managed to scale the wall, they would still have to fight a long way to either exit - which buys time to gather reinforcement & wait for them at the exits.

I remember there being an access point to the wall on the northern section not far from the old main train station. I think a 'wall' was originally constructed during the Tang (7th century?) But as you mentioned the current one is of a later epoch (Ming period). If the heat gets unbearable, one can exit at the central southern section, and enjoy a beer along the nearby Defu alley.
