Because carbs are a lot more user friendly, especially on small, simple engines for lawn work. Imagine having to deal with injectors and worrying about electrical components beyond an ignition coil, spark plug, and kill switch on something like a mower or weed whacker. Not to mention the slightly less efficiency of a carb would be very negligible or not worth caring much for considering how much less we use the engines compared to our cars.
@Bartonovich523 жыл бұрын
Yeah they are. The first two will be all-electric inside of a decade. Especially the chain saw because two stroke engines pollute a lot. The last one will likely be replaced with a battery itself for RV or general use and with fuel injection for the few industrial units that aren’t already (most of them are diesel).

So, I am working on an ATV that I got for free from my neighbour (a woman who divorced and gave it to me as she got old and didnt know anything about it). The ATV had been sitting for a year and I am working on fixing it. Now, I changed some tubes, tested and fixed some stuff, but it didn't want to start and run. I then decided to put gasoline straight into the carburetor hole which made it running for about 5 seconds. This means that everything works fine, there's compression, the battery isn't an issue (it's a kickstart), the spark plug works perfectly fine..., except from the carburetor not taking fuel from the fuel tank. Here is the situation: - When taking off the fuel hose/tube fuel comes throught - When taking off the float chamber, fuel comes throught the hole and falls on the ground, so the chamber fills up with fuel for sure. - Yes, I've cleaned the carburetor twice with a compressor, same goes for the jet's. - When blowing on the fuel income hole where the hose is connected, air goes throught when the float is down as it should. What in the world is causing it not to use the gasoline? Thanks in advance for trying to help!!!

So then how come high performance drag car builders use carbs over efi
@flubdreload28185 жыл бұрын
65sgboogieman almost certain it’s due to rules and regulations within the NHRA

It is actually better especially with supercharger because the air can cool over 100 degrees eliminating the need for an intercooler

Loved this video. And SmarterEveryDay did a carburetor video that anyone who has a carb should watch. I got a 1990 isuzu P'up with a 2.3l carb fed 4 banger, and I put on a weber 36/36 carb, did all the head work and bigger valves and biggest cam profile I could get away with. Was able to SQUEEEEEZE 145hp from it. More than doubled the output. Decked the head for higher comp ratio, long tube headers, everything from the carb to the collector pipe was port matched and polished. Waste of money....but cool.
