One point you didn't mention at the flywheel. Some engines are externally balanced, so it is a good idea to mark the flywheel bolt hole to crank bolt hole. If you don't plan to reuse the crank, this is less important. You should also check the turbo for signs of oil starvation in this specific case as the bearing would seem to indicate an oiling issue.

Some other notes: You can also remove the radiator to give you more clearance. It's also advised to NOT remove the trans on RWD/AWD unless you're swapping or working on it, too, but it's fine either way. Use diesel for cleaning parts and grease. It's cheap and it's extremely effective at dissolving that crap. There are lots of while-you're-in-there improvements to make, such as removing rough casting ridges in the head and the block and port the heads to improve airflow and performance.

In experience, I’m already a Lexus, Toyota master tech. I’ve taken all their engines apart and put them back together a millions times already. And I have probably learned more from this channel when I was in my program than I did in the actual program itself. I will forever be thankful for this channel. And you guys all seem like a really cool team of people. Thanks so much for this.

Jobe is the kind of guy that would be extremely valuable to have as a friend, for car guys especially, not to do everything for you, but I could guarantee if you had car trouble, he’d be the kind of guy to get you in the right direction to getting it fixed.

I thought they might run out of things after the Miata but Jobe will always have something that needs working on.

I know this video is two years old, but I can almost guarantee the fact that you spun a bearing is the lack of the oiling issue with the RB’s coupled along with the fact that race bearings were used race bearings are good for their application but to be honest I’ve seen so many people spin bearings at 3000 RPMs I just built the motor and it’s because those bearings are built to get very hot very quickly and then cool down there not for sustained long high rpm use for an extended period of time if you’re going to street drive vehicle like this and bring it to the track or anything along those lines high quality Street bearings are always the way to go, unless you’re building a specific vehicle for a specific reason like stated then you are better off using those race bearings😊
