I had someone behave somewhat similar to this when I was trying to save them from bleeding to death when I was a paramedic. I was applying pressure to his wound and prepping a tourniquet and he started screaming "She's assaulting me! She's assaulting me!" ... I'm like: "Sir, I'm a medic, you're going to bleed to death in less than 2 minutes if I don't treat this wound, please stop fighting me." Ultimately he bled to death after he punched me in the side of the head and refused to let me seal off his arterial bleed. Christ I'm glad I don't have to work directly with humans anymore, humans suck.

A lot of it is not letting what goes on inside the unit affect you outside of the unit. I also work with good supervisors who look out for me. No single day is predictable within the walls.

Many years ago my freind got one of the very first body cameras. That same day a young woman was asked if she REALLY wanted to make a complaint about him. They actually let her watch the video. She changed her mind when the video contradicted every word of her complaint. She was also told that they saved her from being charged with filing a false statement. I don't know a cop who doesn't like having the camera.

Before body cameras being common, in 2012, we would use our phones to record video and audio clipping them to our plate carriers when we knew we were dealing with especially problematic individuals. Worked out very well in our favor in a few instances where excessive force or sexual assault was claimed by subjects.

30 years ago, the cops would arrest you, put you cuffed and unsecured in the back of a van, then go do loops around the rough local back roads for a while. In my area (and I assume many others), they used to take a break during the ride and get out for a "walk" where the suspect would "fall" a number of times too.

Even then it's completly under the departments discretion and they don't have to give any explantion as to why they deny the request.

I worked at a bunch of dive bars and the cops were usually a last resort. It was bad for business. I found a quick jab with a car key in a soft spot got their attention and a second one usually got them walking. Sometimes somebody had watched too many John Wayne movies and threw a big right hook at me which resulted in their right arm wrapped behind their back. If they were still trying to hit me with their left by the time I got them to the steel door I opened the door with their face. When I got them to the second door and pulled their head back they would usually beg me not to and scream that they would leave. I gave one guy the opportunity to get in a cab one night. He turned and flipped off the four guys behind me and told me to go f myself. I told the guys to have fun. The last thing I saw was him being beaten around the parking lot with the buckle end of a belt as he was running and screaming. FAFO

My man, Donut has covered both sides with good and bad cops and he tries to keep things neutral and asks the comments if they think it was a justified shooting if the question arises. One video Donut covered had a rookie cop resign and later charged with murder because the suspect surprised the officer and was unarmed, the officer shot center mass and hit the suspect's heart. Purely accidental but it was unjustified.

Happy New Year guys! My neighbour got arrested today. We don’t know why but my dad thinks he’s an alcoholic and that he was drunk driving. Cops were apparently yelling, me personally I think he was meant to get arrested a long time ago but, why would that get 8 cop cars on the scene?

Hey Cody, I watched unsub yesterday and want you to know that I (as well as many others I'm sure) get why you want to get out of police content and will support you on whatever your next venture might be. There's nothing wrong with changing up what you're doing on your channel. It's your channel after all. Pretty sure this is his biggest channel, but with KZbin constantly demonetising his videos here, it makes sense for Donut to jump ship. That, and he's mentioned in some of his previous videos about the mental toll from constantly covering police interactions - the good, the bad, and the ugly.
