@@cookiecracker2 not the commenter, but i love the Heatblur f-4e so much for a couple reasons, firstly its the best simulation of a phantom ever, its fairly easy to get into, that even I, who nearly completely new to dcs doesnt have too hard a time learning it due to the documentation and the tutorials available, and because of how dcs is structured, you'll almost never see f-16's, and very rarely mig-29's,unless you choose to, you will instead mostly see other aircraft of a similar era, with similar capabilities in air to air combat

There is no grind in DCS. Its a more immersive experience. You really control an aircraft in DCS, from start up until the very end. But I also like WT when I just want airquake. WT made me love Phantoms and Mig-23s; DCS made me love the F/A-18C Hornet... Only played both initially for the Su-27 and Mig-29; now I feel the need... the need for speed!

I pack a single base' worth of rockets on My F-4S and still regularly get ace-in-a-flight games. Sounds like a severe skill issue for the mouthbreathers to me.

Same here. When I was grinding hard us tree, I was taking napalm for a single base, full aa load, arrived there before monkeys with a full load of bombs, and switched to fighter role afterwards. Ended up with a 2.1 kd with abysmal 45% win rate because of... reasons

Same here as well. I pack 6 1000lb bombs for taking out a single base alongside A2A loadout of 5 Sparrows and 2 Sidewinders. I got to do both bombing bases and scoring player air kills regularly. I either engage enemy players first on the way to the base or turn back to engage them after successfully bombing a base.

Hey! I just want to say that F-4S is one of my favourite fighters in the entire game, I have pretty good KD with, it really is incredible. We exist lol! Btw I really recommend taking 5 Sparrows 2 Sidewinders, that extra 7F, one of the best radar missiles in the game, is easily worth 2 mid IRs. Sometimes when I feel like it I even take 6 Sparrows, unless you are right on the deck Sparrow&F-4S radar can absolutely score kills below 1km in rear aspect :D Anyways great video cheers

i loved playing the f-4f early when it came out because it was the only phantom at the time that could carry gun pods and missiles. when custom loadouts became a thing the other f-4s can now do that. if you are playing the f-4 without flares you can take rocket pods as suedo flares. if you cut afterburner turn and send off a volley rockets will usually track them instead. head on ir missiles are harder to dodge than with normal flares tho.

The more I play the Phantom (specifically the F-4F/F-4F ICE), the more I fall in love with it. It’s a magnificent bird to fly, has good armament and loadouts, familiar playstyle, and, as you said, it’s overall a very fun and forgiving aircraft. Also, I live very close to where the F-4 plant used to be. It’s a shame that Boeing left it abandoned.
