Hey Joss I recently bought MSFS and of course the PMDG 737-800 for it. I was looking back through my "favourite video" list 'cause I really found these tutorial videos comprehensive. They helped me fly the 737 better. Now I don't know if you're still very active on social media, but I was wondering if you could do these same kind of tutorial videos on MSFS? Of course, these videos are still applicable to the 737 since the plane hasn't changed a lot, but anyway if you see this message, please consider making these tutorial videos for MSFS. I'm sure a lot of people will be excited if you do so ;)

Not to sure about the 737, But before switching on the batteries on an aircraft, make sure the wipers are off first so that once u turn it on, the wipers will not switch on and damage the windows. Can watch videos online like baltic aviation which has trainie pilots going through the start up (Not proper procedues tho)

As I said at the start of the video, the procedures followed are the ones given in PMDG's FCOM1 document. Real airlines may teach their pilots different procedures but what I show in these videos matches the documentation given.

Thank your for your excellent videos. I'm a doctor and I feel like I'm geting a virtual type rating through this series. Just one question, may be I don't remember from the previous videos though I saw them full is how are emergency slides deployed? On which panel is the control for it?

The pilots don't control emergency slide deployment. The emergency slides are usually deployed by flight attendants. I might be wrong but I think this is how they work.... Slides have a strap attached to a metal bar and when that strap is pulled, that inflates the slide, much like how the life-jackets under the seats work. The slides are usually stored just underneath a door. When the flight attendants "Arm" the doors, what they do is take that strap and connect it to the door. So if the door is opened, it pulls the strap and activates air canisters inside the slide causing it to inflate. When the doors are "Disarmed", the strap and bar are disconnected from the door and stowed next to the slide under the door.

Hi Doofer911 can you please advise why my LCD Engine Screen is located in between both CDU's and yours is below it. also the the screen above is blank. when checking oil levels and pressing the sys button nothing happens. Hi Rod, you might want to check the two white rotating knobs just above your Primary Flight Display (PFD) and Nav Display (ND). They should both be set to "Norm". Might be worth checking the First Officer's switches as well. I suspect that you might have accidentally clicked on one. Those switches can be used to "move" a display onto a different screen in the event that one of the screens fail.

Photoshop lol. They're basically pictures laid on top of the simulator recording and the text colour changes are synchronised in video editing.

It's just a graphical overlay that was added in using a video editor. It's not an add on or anything like that.

Usually the displays won't be active until the IRS systems have been aligned and the aircraft's current position has been entered into the CDU. I think I cover those steps in the next video of the 737 series.

The procedures shown in the video have been added in during video editing, they're not part of the simulator. For the manuals themselves, you should be able to find PDFs of the FCOM manual under your simulator's install folder, then within a PMDG sub folder
