Leroy wasn't training Dorian. In fact they never really hung out outside of the gym/Dorian taking Leroy with him to the shows he would compete at. Leroy's​ wife was friends with Dorians wife. Leroy would train with Dorian. Dorian would only let people train with him that would do his routine. One problem was Dorian liked to train in the morning but Leroy was at work at those times so Dorian gave him a job of training with him. Also Dorian said Leroy was playing up for the camera and that he wouldn't usually shout out those motivational slogans when they worked out.

at the time no one reading the magazines believed Dorian could get so much out of only performing one set, blood and guts enlightened them that Dorian puts more intensity in his last failing rep on one exercise then your average gymrat generates their entire workout. HIT for life, 100% or nothing, anyone that has truely trained like this knows that you will not want to do another set after the big one.

he's not doing just one set though...the difference between high volume guys, is they count warmup sets...they all increase weight with each set...just like dorian does...but dorian goes all out on his final set...and doesn't count the build up sets.
