Yeah. Him saying DL is lying on purpose is a very bold statement. In reality, DL probably isn't remembering correctly or just doesn't understand. DL isn't an analytical person. Even with the lane swap thing, I understand what Dom and DL are saying. In general, they are doing a very similar strat. However, when you take a deeper dive, you can tell they are different strats.

that's still not the same thing as a laneswap though. BDS and G2 both sent their ADCs (varus and jinx) top. in other words the bot lane goes top lane (hence the name lane swap). with the sion diving strat, the bot lanes stay bot and sion tp's back to top. so the bot laners stay bot and the top laners stay top. hence not a laneswap. doublelift said it's the same thing. no way doublelift doesn't know the difference between sending your ADC top and having your top laner top.

Also, am I the only one who could see the scrims still being leaked for the sole reason of “G2 has to have practiced this?” Like yes, we JUST saw it in LPL, but that doesn’t mean every team instantly knows how to play it, or play against it effectively. Like what is to say someone didn’t leak G2 scrims and say “this just happened in LPL and G2 has been practicing it, here’s the leak” Maybe it’s the devils advocate in me, but I feel like there’s too much “he said/she said” in this whole situation to completely disprove that there is some kind of leak.

I think Dom's point is that when he makes a video or makes claims like this he has evidence and pretty objective information to back it up. When DL makes this kind of video he compares examples that are not even the same thing and spews random information that nobody can seem to verify easily. DL is wrong that it was Worlds. T1 at MSI game 3 vs MAD did the Sion strat of going with the jungler and then diving bot lane. They did not lane swap. I think DL is just misremembering. That being said T1 did not swap bot and top lanes that game, so DL is wrong. Here’s why BDS was waiting in top side. Soon jinx is an immediate sign of a split map. They invaded bot and placed wards at the entrance of both entrances so they know G2 is not splitting bot. Only possible split map is top. So they clear their own top jg and spot G2 in top river. That’s why they’re top. They did their work/scouting in bot and got rewarded for it. It’s not like they all sat in their top jg blindly waiting and found them.

Am i the only one who thinks that the fact that NIP played this is even more reason to beleive that it was a scrim leak? Like scrim leaks happen legit all the time, to every top team. Someone from BDS heared that G2 tried lane swap in scrims, they hear that NIP actually did it in a stage game and thus actually beleive it. If someone randomly told me that a team does lane swap for the first time in 6+ years, i would not give it any merit or think it is just a random scrim strat. I think Monte had a bad take, I listened to all his arguments and I think that considering the recent NIP lane swap and the draft from G2, the lane swap possibility was in their mind from the start. From the early bottom invade, were they dropped the wards, they could see that Sion was not doing a version of their own Sion cheese, so the swap suspicion was confirmed for them. I'm not defending DL, but, the T1 stuff, or the similar, but, not same strategy he cites he used, are just examples, what he wanted to demonstrate was that G2 didn't invent the strategy against BDS, and neither did NIP VS FPX. The strategy is old, that's the point, sure, he might be factually incorrect in his examples, but the point stands. It's not a new strategy, it's been used before, and recently so, therefore, it's not impossible to think that a player recognized it and called it out, even if they really didn't know how to counter it perfectly.

Unironically I think Doublelift is just actually stupid and thinks they're the same. I have watched many things from him. VoDs and streams of him talking about anything from real life to the game. The frequency in which his take is quantifiably wrong is actually insane. This is why I think he must have been an awful team mate to play with. He thinks he knows things about macro but he is almost always wrong about his calls. He was always a hands only player.

It seems like if there was any leak, it was something minor that happened close to the game because BDS looked like they had no idea how to play against the laneswap so they didn't have a lot of time prepping against it, but also if they don't have a decent plan to react to it then it doesn't make a ton of sense that they would recognize it ahead of time on their own accord.
