Downhill Domination Review - PS2 HD Emulation of the Classic Downhill MTB Game

Downhill Domination PS2 review.
After many comments on our Descenders Review telling us that Downhill Domination also exists, and those commenting saying it's better, we had to give it a go.
A downhill BMX PlayStation 2 game made to be as similar as possible to the likes of Tony Hawk's and Dave Mirra BMX while still being a totally different sport, it was a good recommendation.
The similarities between the two games ends at "There are bikes that go downhill". This is an arcade game only released on the PS2 with punching, volcanoes and 500ft drops. Descenders is, err, not.
All in all, I liked Downhill Domination. In this video, I have emulated the game to forgive 15 years of graphical improvements, but it controls and sounds exactly the same. That, unfortunately, is not a good thing. Time is a fickle mistress.

This game holds up even in today's standards. Like most old games I play are nostalgia and have you going meh after 5 minutes of playing. But this game truly was and still ahead of it's time. Pure entertainment.

Holy... This game came out before my brother was born yet we have so many memories playing it , so much fun . if we think about ps2 coop games we played together this is easily top 3 . i had no idea there were cheats .. or upgrades lol and i memorized the maps the turns the shortcuts and i still remember a lot of them . Really great game

Ace D I would do quick flips on accident lol. I found out that if you hit any direction on the D-pad RIGHT after you bunny hop you’d do it quickly. It was always easier to just quick spin rather then quick flip for me personally.

Yea, I am the dev. At first you are going to be terrible with the bike, but I promise once you get the feel for the physics it is incredibly precise and addicting. Climbing the Ice mountain is the best way to get a feel for the game. Just remember Mash A to climb, Hold A to charge jump, and bust a wheelie before letting go to get super air.
