I took 2mg clonazepam for 10 years and quit 1 year ago. It’s been so scary and painful and full of fear. Then I read your article describing exactly what I was experiencing. I tapered in only 6 weeks from 2 to 0.25mg and then used medicinal marijuana for the withdrawal, and it didn’t help. It was painful with cardiac problems, then I became ticklish after 10 days. I was physically numb from benzos. And my heart would idle at 85bpm at rest, now it idles about 65bpm. My heart rate variability has improved dramatically. My gray hair has turned dark again. I have less anxiety than every, even tho some days I have full inflammation and pressure in my head and all the bad AFS problems, it improves and turns out this was all “normal”. The fearfulness was the worst, thank you doctor.

So is it adrenal fatigue or HPA axis dysregulation?

I have battled this for long time. I bought some of your books on the subject recently and it put everything in perspective. Your book "central nervous system disruptions and adrenal fatigue syndrome" almost exactly matches all my issues', tested myself several yrs ago which showed low morning levels of cortisol. I self medicated with hydrocortisone as didn't think doctors would be interested. I tried usually 5mg tablet split into quarter in the a.m,1.25mg and 1.25mg at lunch. This brought many benefits, few negatives. Ive been trying this on and off for many yrs and also tried prednisone. The main symptoms seem to be insomnia and difficulty to have the energy to work 12.5 hour shift work also irritability and mood swings. Recently palpitations of the heart.

Dr.Lam I seen an article about cbs up-regulation and adrenal fatigue. It would be great if you could make a video on this issue. I am struggling with this right now and my nutritionist wants me to take liposomal glutathione, samE, hcl, and milk thistle. I already tried the milk thistle tea and had a bad reaction. Pain in-between the shoulder blades and neck and even hives.
@drlam4 жыл бұрын
In addition to CBS up-regulation you might also have underlying liver or Extracellular membrane congestion that makes you so sensitive to detox. We will definitely think about making a video about that topic! Thanks for the suggestion. www.drlamcoaching.com/adrenal-fatigue/concepts/extracellular-matrix/

Dr. Lam, on one of your videos you mentioned that when you tried eating vegan, it was fine for awhile but then you found it wasnt for you. I have adrenal fatigue and have a good dr who has helped me. But she hasnt had adrenal fatigue. Since you are a fellow sufferer and someone who tried a vegan diet, i was wondering what happened to you that told you the vegan diet wasnt for you. I am currently on the vegan diet as an adrenal fatigue sufferer and would like your input on your experience as an adrenal fatigue sufferer and the vegan diet. Can you still exercise with AF? I still workout 2-3 days a week 60 minutes. It helps me sleep better.
@drlam4 жыл бұрын
It depends on what stage of AFS you're in. If you're in later stages we suggest you don't overexert yourself but do more gentler exercises. However, at earlier stages of AFS, your body can probably tolerate exercise a little more.

If you think you might not be getting enough vitamin c I 100% recommend trying it. hello doctor, I have noticed that I get this weird sensation of shortness of breath after I work out. I noticed that if I don't work out for a while, this shortness of breath goes away. However, when I return, it comes back immediately. It's almost as if I can't take full breaths of air for the rest of the day after working out. I been to the doctor and my lab results all came in normal. Oxygen saturation is normal. I can't help but to think this has something to do with adrenal fatigue. I am also taking ashwaghanda and have no idea if this is making it worse. Does this sound like adrenal fatigue?
