Loved this podcast, especially the stuff at the end about recovery. I don't think people talk enough about the impact of stress. Apart from getting great guests, what I really like about your podcasts is the way you ask intelligent questions and then allow the guest to answer fully without interrupting. It makes it so much easier to digest the information compared to so many other podcasts. Thanks Juma : )

Such an excellent podcast. Kudos to you and also Mike Israetel for being Boss! I think this is a great listen for both intermediate and advanced lifters/athletes. Info evolves so much in exercise science and fitness and you guys cover both the fundamentals and also some progressive developments in the field. This podcast has both the basics (‘you know how much sleep you need’) and some advanced principles for recovery and mrv.

God damn Michael is brilliant. So nice to hear his comments regarding DOMS, especially from leg workouts. If I missed a leg workout, I would legit skip the next one if I had some event to go to or job to do - because I knew I would be insanely sore and struggle to even walk around. Obviously that means I spend 1 or 2 weeks not doing legs but now I know I can just take it easier.

Thanks for the great podcast, Do you think you can express MRV as total of tonnes lifted through the week? But in order to decrease the bias only include compound movements and exclude the isolation exercises. Or at least focus on free weights because doing 5 sets of leg press will completely bias your weekly tonnage for the legs. You can do 20 total sets for legs but when 15 of them are leg extensions it does not really count but the tonnage is still high but you can't compare a ton lifted through extensions with a ton lifted by doing squats. Would like to hear your opinion and I hope you could address those questions during the upcoming podcasts.

It was nice to hear about how to find the right training volume in search of MAV/MRV, that gave me some much needed insight. I also really enjoyed the part about recovery at the end. Great talk as always.

Israetel also mentioned down sets, which I understood to be for example doing 4 sets heavy and 3 sets lights. If in general you use 50-85% weight of your 1rep max, how light the light sets should be?
