Thanks Tim, another great video! Nice Pro-Stock racing action. Looking forward to your chat with Greg Anderson. I feel that todays Pro-Stock race cars have little connection to any "Stock" OEM brands. (I understand how the class has evolved since the 70s) Examples - - A Chevy Engine in a Ford body. (Yikes!) - (couldn't get away with that one at my local circle-track!) - A Chevy engine not produced by Chevrolet. (highly evolved Clone w/no OEM parts) - A Ford body and chassis not produced by Ford. (all custom aftermarket) (please - correct me if I am wrong, it happens) Todays Pro-Stock race cars are pure-bred race cars, unlike the Pro-Stocks of 40-50 years ago. I would argue, that your Drag-Boss-Garage 1969 Mercury Cougar is closer to the being a True Pro-"Stock" than what is competing in that class today. (based on the Original concept of the class) Don't get me wrong, todays racing action is wicked fast & exciting! Yes, I am an old-timer, I was at the 1970 & 1971 NHRA Winter Nationals in Pomona and witnessed the dawn of the Pro-Stock class growing up and Drag racing in So-Cal. How is that 409 Cleveland coming along? Can't wait to hear your Cougar ROAR again. Any H/P numbers yet?

AC, you are so right. Makes me sad the way that things evolved in pro stock. Being a Ford guy. I know when I saw that Ford sticker on top of the Chevy logo, lol. Yes you witnessed the birth of PS, something I would love to have done. But like I said in a previous post, I’m happy where I am. I’m at the time I’m supposed to be. I do agree that my Cougar is pretty fast, a driver so to speak. And I bet if you took that engine out and put it in one of the Pro stock cars will probably run even faster than them. I would hope so. I always appreciate your comments and experience. I just got the oil pan for the 409, and the oil pump pick ups, I’m working a video for that now. Stay tuned to DBG🏁💯

You have a beautiful family, a successful working career, really cool hot rods, race cars and race engines, as well as having a awesome KZbin channel and a beautiful home and an awesome Drag Boss Garage shop. That's why I do not watch NHRA Drag Racing anymore. Because It's all Chevy'sIn the pro classes. Chevy got caught cheating in the F/X Class And they didn't do anything. Just a slap on the wrist after the other car's left.

Yeah...that takes away from the sport that Pro Stock started out as. This being the case they should just change the name to Pro Camaro. I'm old school. I miss the days when you could see Don Nicholson run Sox & Martin. Warren Johnson run Bob Glidden. Scott Shafiroff run Ricky Smith. I don't enjoy watching Pro Stock anymore. I watch old videos of the old races & racers...🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

@@DragBoss351Cleveland Thank you sir. That's why I enjoy going to car shows so much. Especially the smaller car meets or maybe one in a rural town. That's where you'll find the old iron...of all types. You see Mustangs, Camaros, Chargers, Javelins, etc. I especially like to see & hear the old iron at the shows...the look on the young kids when they hear a Hemi fire up, a Cammer, A Rat. They're smiling from ear to ear. I especially like that events like these are family friendly and everyone is very friendly and respectful. Love to see families move from car to car, holding hands...a dad with his daughter on his shoulders...a young boy explaining to mom the car their looking at. Sorry for my ramble. Like I said...I'm just old school... Thank for the great videos that you work so hard to produce. I know its a labor of love...especially when the wife and kids are involved. I love to teach my kids about cars, they always asked me what cars that and I can tell them the year, the make and the model. They’re amazed by that. they are doing that, with new cars look at Tesla, I break out laughing. I realize how it started with me. I’m glad you enjoy my channel. Definitely a family channel.
