Thorus Zwolf Hard to say. I guess it depends if you're a fan of the franchise or not. If you're a fan of both franchises, you'll find Dragonball Evolution to be far worse. If you've never seen either series before, you're likely to hate The Last Airbender more. Dragonball is a far worse adaptation, but Last Airbender fails at the most basic aspects of storytelling. Hilariously, both movies involve air bending, due to, again, shitty adaptation.

I just watched it. Why the hell did I make that decision? I've seen Batman and Robin, The Last Airbender, Twilight, and every other bad movie in existence. But this movie so far happens to be the worst of them all. It's so bad, that I consider it as the Citizen Kane of god-awful movies. It's not even a pile of garbage, because a pile of garbage is way more entertaining than this shit stain they call "Dragonball Evolution"! I'm not a big fan of Dragonball Z tbh, but man this movie is the biggest insult to anime fans and movie goers. This movie makes it worse for me because I'm both an anime fan and a movie goer. With the avatar movie, they used multiple martial arts techniques to perform simple bending techniques. In the anime, toph was able to move a large amount of earth beneath her at high speeds to get to the place she wanted to, in the movie, it took close to 6 earth benders, multiple stances to get a small bolder to move at about 1 m/s.

It is just one of the worst movies of all time, there is absolutely nothing good about it. Like. Nothing. Just no. Nope. Flexnade But Dragonball was already an anime. I want Dragonball to flourish to other mediums. Just because it was originally a manga and anime doesn't mean it was always meant to be that way. Stan Lee was trying to get Hollywood to make Marvel live-action movies for decades and Hollywood back then was basically saying the same thing you are saying now. Marvel movies wasn't a thing that was immediately accepted like what we see today. Giving up is like saying you don't have faith in Dragonball being any good. What did _Dragonball Evolution_ teach us other than terrible movies do not make money? Seriously, how did it follow Dragonball in any way? impalabeeper yeah but goku isnt asian, he's a space alien, a saiyan, from another planet that no longer exists, he's the japanese equivalent to super man in that he has racially ambiguous facial characteristics that make it hard to pin down an exact ethnicity. The only identifying characteristic he has (other than the tail) is his spiky hair which gives literally no indicator as to whether he's white, or asian, or hispanic, or european or anything. But justin chatwin was still a horrible casting choice.

-SPOILER ALERT- Long comment, so I don't blame you if you don't read my rant. I'm just ranting to rant. SO many things are wrong with this. Even the voice actors of the anime hates this movie, and rightfully so. zthis basically mocked and insulted Japan. Dragonball is this adventure manga/anime with humor and fighting across hundreds of chapters, a journey for Goku to become stronger and win the Martial Arts Tournament and to find the Dragon Balls with Bulma, and eventually Krillin, Yamcha, and Oolong, the last of which is important when Emperor Pilaf, Mai, and Shu call Shenron/Shenlong, and Oolong runs up to the dragon and wishes for Bulma's panties rather than let Pilaf take over the world. At least they used the name 'Kamehameha Wave" rather than the translation "Turtle Destruction Wave." Wouldn't put it past them. You forgot to mention that Mai works for Emperor Pilaf and Piccolo has antennae. What's so hard about putting antennae on? Wonder where the Red Ribbon Army went. Important plot point, because of Dr. Gero and the 'androids', but I guess since it had nothing to do with King Piccolo, it wasn't worth mentioning. Where was Launch/Lunch? Roshi has a different master in the movie. Roshi uses a version of the Fountain of Youth in the manga/anime to stay alive for so long...he's like 300+ years old. Guess no one knows he's the Turtle Hermit, said to be the greatest fighter in the world. Oh, and his perversions were wayyyy toned down in the movie. And WHERE IS KRILLIN? Yamcha is a fighter in Dragonball. Yamcha was turned into comic relief in this movie. Where is his sword and his Wolf Fang Fist? Bulma knew a whole lot more about the Dragon Balls. How many there were, what they did when they were all collected, etc. She wanted to with for a boyfriend. Yamcha wanted to cure his shyness. Goku thought marriage was a kind of food at the time where he promised to marry Chi Chi. And they never introduced the Ox King. Goku learned the Kamehameha so easily int he manga.anime because that's just what Goku does...he's just so badass that he can do whatever he wants so easily most of the time. Oozaru never works for Piccolo...Goku turns into this GIANT ape, not that small werewolf looking thing, not to mention he kills his own grandfather by steppiing on him in ape form. KING Piccolo wants to restore his youth with the Dragon Balls. And where are his children, Cymbal, Tambourine (who kills Krillin, the first death of the series. But don't worry, he's revive by Shenron/Shenlong later), and Drum? King Piccolo in the movie was WAYYY too easy to beat in the movie. Goku had all of his bones pretty much broken, and used the Kamehameha Wave to propel himself to go through King Piccolo's stomach to kill him. Crazy death match. King Piccolo spits out an egg to create a character named Piccolo Junior, or just Piccolo, an important character later on. I miss Goku's hair and tail. Plus, his lack of education and lack of knowledge of the outside world is an important personality trait for Goku. The capsules were really downgraded in this movie. And what's with the use of guns? Pilaf, Mai, and Shu were pretty much all comic relief in the DBverse. Seriously. Alright. I want to rant about 7348275348523 other things, but this is enough for now.

Movie Sin Counter bonus round : Goku was a KID (6-12) in dragon ball, and a MAN(18+) in dragon ball Z. James Wong (FOX) wanted to do both db and dbz series together by speeding up Goku's age... so they made him 18 and finding bulma for the firs time. This is called a (CASH GRAB) getting quick money by trying(FAILING) to put the best of both worlds. We as fans know you can't put every single little detail in a live action movie, but COME ON!!!!! all I see is GREED AND LAZINESS in this movie. So let me get this strait FOX... Actually, Goku is anything but a pacifist. He really did like to fight, which is why he trained with Roshi and fought in tournaments. Later he lets Vegeta live just so he can fight him again, and when he has the opportunity to defeat Freeza when he is weak, he lets him power up just so he can fight with him, and then he wishes that Buu is reincarnated. Yes, he wishes that one of the worst evil beings on the universe be reincarnated, even if it is as a good guy, just so he can fight him again.

Goku essentially only fought to protect. He never killed Vegeta or Freeza because he thought they could redeem themselves, not because he was just after more blood. The same with Majin Buu/Uub. He's a selfless pacifist.

The point that he made was that he was not a bloodthirsty killer. He fights 1. For sport (tournaments) 2. To protect people (everything else) He never beats someone up because he is angry with them. I don't know where you get that from.

He just challenges people a lot because he loves having a challenge. He was excited to challenge freiza when king kai told him about his legendary strength. Same thing with Bills.

Jan Macapagal Tbh, Dragon Ball Evolution is by far 9000 times worse than Avatar the Last Airbender. When I watched the Dragon Ball Evolution trailer, I knew it's going to suck because the trailer shows Goku going to school, and bullies picking a fight with Goku. Granted both movie sucked so hard; however, Avatar the Last Airbender, M Night did have Aang correctly whereas Goku isn't Goku at all. His hair color isn't right, his personality isn't even close being Monkey D. Luffy's traits, his origin isn't explained, the story script sucks, & he's probably the most unlikable character to this day. Well at least Avatar the Last Airbender had mascots like Appa & Momo in it whereas Dragon Ball Evolution, there's no Oblong, Puar, or even Mr. Turtle... Also, Krillin isn't in this horseshit movie, so... Lastly, Master Roshi has no perverted moments with Bulma or any women in particular... just playboy magazines... Dragon Ball Evolution is like an electric chair filled with electric eels submerged in water. As for Avatar the Last Airbender, it's like you're on a stretch rack where everything sped up quickly because M Night skipped, edited, and went in a fast pace into not giving a damn to Avatar fans...

What's funny, is in an interview, James M. expressed how excited he was and how much of a fan of the series he was, and it leads me to believe.. that they must have shown him a different script for him to sign on, because if he had seen the script they were planning on using, I have to think he wouldn't have signed up for it. Also, it's so funny how proud all the cast members seem to be during their interviews about this movie. I really hope this gets rebooted by someone else, this deserves a good movie franchise.

Actually you did need to do some sort of arm motion to do the kamehameha BUT goku learned it from Roshi by watching but couldnt remember the arm motions so just did the last part when he cuffed his hands and he was able to make a small one

Actually when Dragon Ball began, Goku was never an Alien. Toriyama only thought of that much later, Goku was only supposed to be an odd child created in reference to Sun Wukong.
