@@dripdee1913 Yes very true! But remember that the white people called our locs "dreads" as an insult to describe our locs, they were calling them dreadful. So it may be offensive and disrespectful to most, but yes it does matter on how you view the word!

@@marce4752 and people of color used the word "dread" as a means of putting "dread" into the system through the embodiment of their hair, a feature that we're always being judged by. how white people speak about people of color, amongst one another, is quite literally none of our business. Thank you for creating this video. I really appreciate it because I have worn my hair natural since 1989. I went through all the fads and stages when it came to hair, but just under 5 years ago... I decided to loc my mane. And I started from scratch. For me I arrived at my loc journey by having a spiritual epiphany. So everything about my process needed to be pure and organic. I also find that what other people call my “locs” does not offend me or make me feel any type of way... mainly because I know that some people don’t know, while others purposely try to invoke a certain amount of discomfort without your spirit. I am not interested in trying to teach those who are not interested in learning, so I just let things like this wash right off of me. Because for me...It is absolutely the best decision I have ever made. Again thank you for providing the loc’d and loc’s curious community this information and sharing your experiences with us!

Awwww! I understand. Are they long enough to style, even if it’s a short locs style?? If you have to rock a cute wig, do that girl!! Pleaseeee don’t miss your prom, that’s a night you can’t get back ✨

Your Locs are beautiful 😍. I’m glad you mention thinning at the end I have a bad habit of just clipping them off even though I shouldn’t 👎🏾 August will be my 2year anniversary. 🥳

Thank you so much girl!! & yes, it's so tempting to touch the ends but the more you clip, the more it effects your growth over the years because they will be shorter from the cutting! Yesssss to 2 years!!

What method did you use plz? Is the coil method best?
@LifeWithLocc3 жыл бұрын
My mom used the finger coil method, so that is the one I usually suggest to others!

I’m actually nursing my own back to good health sis 😩 my advice is to not pull your hair up into tight styles a lot & also keep them moisturized at all times!

6 months in what do you recommend for moisturizing? I just use water and oil right now
@LifeWithLocc2 жыл бұрын
Keep up those exact two products! Water and oil regularly is the key. Locs are low maintenance so there's nothing too complicated that you need :)
