i unironically love mysims skyheroes. i was absolutely NOT the target audience for it but i got insanely invested in the story to the point of playing the game nonstop without any breaks until i finished it. it was surprisingly well written and i really loved the plot twist toward the end (i still think it goes hard)

Fun fact: Several Sims from the MySims series have made appearances in The Sims 3 and The Sims 4! Sir Vincent Skullfinder is buried in Sunset Valley's graveyard in The Sims 3. Also, Travis, Summer, and Liberty are playable in The Sims 4 as Willow Creek's BFF household (their house's name, Garden Essence, is also a MySims reference). Finally, DJ Candy is playable in The Sims 4: Get Together (she also has a sister named Yuki, but she doesn't resemble the MySims character of the same name).

Dude I thought I was the only person who played these games. Literally no one else I knew growing up played the My sims versions of the sims games. Which is a shame because DJ candy is awsome. Edit: Also also these games were the first that exposed me to goth culture thanks to violet and "goth boy". So yes the my sims games turned me goth.

My Sims was always one of those unfortunate games that I loved, but for years was mistreated by most popular videogame personalities that played it. It honestly always upset me when some internet person just got bored stacking blocks into rude shapes for ten minutes, loudly called it weird and dumb, and never bothered to meet it where it was. There's so much charm and room for creativity in it when folks give it a chance. Thank you for actually doing the game series justice.

I played the original MySims on my family computer for a very, VERY long time (which I had to stop because of a softlock glitch in the game + the family computer getting old) and I remember having THE biggest crush on Travis when he moved in my town. I'd constantly go to his house and build him furniture and talking with him to get the "best friend" relationship with him. Then some years have passed and I saw how they designed him in The Sims 4. Oh I cried that night. Travis my baby what did they do to you.

I personally feel like the ds mysims, specifically mysims, kingdom, and agents, had potential for a completely different game in the series mostly because it somehow felt very animal crossing-esque. I wish they were flushed out more because those are my first games in the entire sims franchise.

I love this series - I initially bought it for my daughter, but soon fell in love with it myself - My favorites are the original My Sims, Kingdom and Agents. The others not so much. My first (and only) Sims game was MySims for the DS when it came out, and despite really enjoying the game itself, I remember feeling frustrated after I completed all the quests and my island. There just wasn't enough to keep me coming back to the completed game. I had no clue that there was so much more to the game on other platforms, but that explains all the hype for the Switch port!

12 years ago (goddammit...) I saw PBG playing my sims. I remember him being a bit harsh on the game and overal focusing on the bad parts of it. I don't blame him since he's clearly not the right demographic for that game and his videos are mostly comedic. That being said, I thought it looked really cute. The blocky designs seemed adorable and this art from 20:04 only confirms it. It's great to see a new perspective of these games from a different person that would appreciate what it was going for more. I still wouldn't play them maybe but I'm happy to see them being appreciated.

You have no idea how excited it makes me that you've made a MySims video. The reason is not what you'd expect, though! No, it isn't because of childhood nostalgia, but in fact the exact opposite. When I was a kid, I got a MySims game. I don't remember which one it was right now, but maybe when I watch the video, I will. But, what I remember is that child me was SO MAD that the MySims games were called "sims" games, when they are so incredibly different from the main titles. My adult self can now see how "hey, maybe everything being exactly the same is a good thing actually", but for my child self, there was no crime bigger than being a sims game but completely different. I had Sim Animals for my DS Lite, and that one was okay because, naturally, it had animals in it and that distracted me from how that game was also completely different from the other sims titles. It's always made me laugh, looking back on how upset it being not like the mainline sims games made me. I don't remember what version it was, but it might've been that first ds version of MySims. I remember being so confused when I saw people using the building feature, because that wasn't what I remembered being in MySims

My sister bought us Mysims Kingdom back then for the Wii. I LOVED it so much that I got the regular Mysims for my DS Lite. But it wasn't as good as the MySims Kingdom Wii Version. I got bored pretty quick and forgot about these games besides finding small figures in Sims 3/4 . But ofc when the Cozy Bundle came out a few months ago....I instantly had to get my own copy of it (and maybe cried a little bit xD). Right now I complete Mysims Kingdom but idk if I should try Mysims again.

This was super nostalgic to watch. My first sims game was My Sims Kingdom for DS, but I unfortunately lost it (right after playing the fishing game for way too long) so watching that section unlocked long forgotten childhood memories. I'm relieved to hear that I might not have been missing out on much when I lost it though lol! Maybe the game going missing saved me some disappointment about the lack of castles and the king only showing up once

I actually really liked the DS MySims Agents. Just getting to travel around the town, decorating it, doing fun minigames (the restaurant one was my favorite growing up), and then having a fun over-arching mystery on top of all the side quests around town was very fun for me as a kid.

I played agents and kingdom on the Wii as a child, our agents was stolen by my step sisters ex bf and sold (still hold this against that man, why were you stealing games from literal children, you suck sir) but kept ahold of my kingdom and it was one of the first games I ever beat I purchased the switch versions as soon as they released and beat kingdom in 9 hours, what really surprised me was that bugs weren’t really fixed, maybe game breaking ones but I came across one in my play through and got stuck for a good minute before finding a 12 year old video on KZbin that walked me through how to fix the bug 😅✨

I asked for a Wii for Christmas as a kid specifically for the MySims games. I ended up with all of them at some point and I was a total MySims fanatic. But it also led me to eventually get other games and develop an interest in gaming and nerd culture. I guess you could say that MySims of all things helped shape me into the nerd I am today. Wild.
