1. **Importance of Lysine for Hair Growth:** - Hair is primarily composed of protein, specifically collagen, and lysine is a crucial amino acid for strong and elastic hair. - Lysine, found in red meat and eggs, is vital for hair growth, making these foods important for maintaining healthy hair. 2. **Protein Quality and Quantity:** - Consuming high-quality protein sources like grass-fed beef and eggs is emphasized for sufficient lysine intake. - Adequate protein intake is essential, with around six to eight ounces of protein twice a day recommended for optimal hair health. 3. **Iron Absorption and Hair Loss:** - Lysine aids in iron absorption, and sufficient iron is crucial for hemoglobin production, preventing anemia-related hair loss. - Foods high in both lysine and iron include red meat, animal proteins, and eggs. 4. **Gut Health and Hair Loss:** - Stress increases the demand for lysine, and gut inflammation can hinder amino acid absorption, potentially leading to hair loss. - The connection between gut health, a carnivore diet, and hair regrowth is explored, emphasizing the role of the digestive system in overall hair health. 5. **DHT Inhibition and Natural Solutions:** - DHT, a form of testosterone, can contribute to hair loss. Natural inhibitors like zinc, lysine, pumpkin seed oil, green tea extract, and nettle root are suggested. - The importance of lysine in various bodily functions, such as reducing stress, lowering cortisol, and improving insulin resistance, is highlighted.

Takeaways: 1. Hair is a protein nothing but type of collagen. Protein is nothing but bunch of amino acids. 2. Lysine: is one of the important of amino acids. It mainly present in animal protein not on Plant protein, Grain protein. Eggs , red meat is better. Plant and Grain proteins have Phytates ehich block other factors. 3. Iron also important for blood. Anemia is also one factor for hair loss. Lysine also helps in Iron absorption. Iron related to red foods like red meat. 4. Gut health is important. If you cant digest or absorb Lysine. Gut microbes makes amino acids. So take probiotic foods. 5. DHT inhibitors ( stoppers) . Zinc, lysine, pumpkin seeds oil, green tea extract. 6. Lysine helps in many things stress, heart, diabetics , insulin resistance etc.. 7. Chronic stress - autoimmune diseases, Hair loss etc.. since Cortisol hormone is a catabolic hormone. It breaks things down. Our body not designed for cortisol for long period of time. 8. B complex - Nutritional yeast. OVERALL, LYSINE AND RED MEAT( CARNIVORE OR KETO) diet fixes many things like diabetes, gut health, inflammation and finally HAIR LOSS.

Personally, I was not interested in any of the drugs/chemicals that are often used. I just think the financial cost and also potential health-related costs are not worth it. Obv with those drugs you will likely keep ur hair thick until you stop using them, whereas going the natural route perhaps you will only be able to delay the hair loss process long term. My long and thick hair was suddenly thin, dry and short in the neck, about 5 or 7 cm up, from ear to ear and did not grow. After many months of this I saw Berg's video about hair and Apple Vineagar, and then I rememebered that I had poured it on my neck, head upside down, to put it into the hair. It had also been very dry before, and I used DE to make it better again and now it is normal again, but not in the neck. It has grown a little bit. Now I use only marseille soap to wash it and the brush never smells bad. I have the best wooden brush from Koh-I-Noor in Italy. I put the soap in water first, then rub it on the hair. I will never again buy schampoo or balsam. My hair is slowly getting better.
@lorenamcgovern11 ай бұрын
Are you saying that you poured apple cider vinegar on your hair, and that's what made it dry?
@Sigridovski11 ай бұрын
@@lorenamcgovern The time I poured it on my head, it touched the skin in my neck and burnt my hair follicles, just as Dr. Berg explains in a video. I did not notice when my hair went short exactly and did not understand why the neck hair was not long as before, all short and frizzy. I always had thick, shiny, very straight and long copper red hair. Some years before that it was very dry. At first I thought it was my age. I eat healthy biodynamic foods. After the incident with the hair follicles in the neck, I understood that it was dry earlier because I had used apple cider vinegar in water, maybe 2 dl in 7 dl water, and my hair was so dry I could hardly not comb it. I used Diatomaceous Earth and it got good again. The follicles in my neck have not improved much. I did this pure vinegar thing in January 2000. I will never again use apple vinegar, schampoo or balsam. I listened to Eric Berg videos about hair and there is good info there that I can not explain here, would take me ages. I use now only marseille soap, and it is the only type of soap that ought to be made. They ruin our health with all kinds of chemicals, bleach in toilet paper, chemicals in viscose tissue, teflon, metals etc. I use only natural things. To repair my neck hair I'd have to do oil therapies, which I have no time for now. I love the marseille soap I get cheaply in Arabic shops, made in Turkey or Syria, it is the same thing. Just listen to all his hair videos and you will know more. Marseille soap is the best. I put my soap in water first for a few minutes or a whole day, or even just 30 seconds, don't matter and rub it on the hair. At first the hair feels strange when wet, then it is good. I suspect they put something into the schampoos so you will not notice its damaging effect, and this goes away when you use marseille soap. also the brush I use now never smells. The schampoo is probably toxic and kills the good bacteria that protect the scalp. I don't understand why else the hair can smell bad with it after not having washed the hair for some days but not now when I use marseille soap. It never smells and my brush never smells. This is easy to test oneself.

You did not address one of the biggest factors in hair loss and that is genetics. I’m in my 60s and a lot of my friends from my college days are bald or going bald very quickly and all of them eat red meat. I also knew their fathers and vaguely remember some of their grandfathers, who were also bald or had very little hair. The fact is genetics plays a huge factor in hair loss, it’s not just diet.

Based on a short google search, I came across the following vegan sources for Lysine: Legumes: Beans, lentils, and soy, Tofu: A great source of lysine, Tempeh: A good source of lysine, Quinoa: Contains all essential amino acids, Chia seeds: Contain all nine essential amino acids, Nuts: A good source of lysine, Seeds: A good source of lysine Please advise on these and why these might not be good sources of much needed Lysine. Thank you!!

You’re absolutely right, all those plant based foods you mentioned have lysine, if one has impeccable health and digestion. Unfortunately for some of us,the anti- nutrient content of plants, and things like low stomach acid and gut disbiosis , eating animal based proteins are more easily up taken by the majority . My ego would love nothing more than me being vegan, sadly , reality trumps ego!

Lysine will also destroy cold sores. When I feel a cold sore is coming on if I take 1000/2000 mg of lysine 3 to 4 times a day for a couple of days the cold sore dies not fully developed. if I am in a place where I can’t get Lysine then I have a full blown cold sore attacked.
