Here in the UK we have something called Vicks Chest Rub. Usually used for chesty coughs. But it works against fungal infection. Just remember it takes 9-12 months for a toe nail to grow out. Use a little every day but make sure the Vicks goes on the nail and not on the skin. Im a podiatrist and I’ve seen full recovery with Vicks.

I treated my toenail fungus with tea tree oil, I'd apply it 3 times a day, saturate the nail as much as I could, and that's how I healed my issue. Just tossing this out there in case anyone else wants to try it. It took a couple of months, but it worked.

I think the environment also plays a role in toe nail fungus. When I was living in a dry no humidity climate state, my toe fungus were gone. I moved back to humid region, my fungus came back. Also, when living in hot climate desert I mostly wore sandals, open toe shoes, I had no fungus. When I moved to a colder climate region and almost always wore closed toe shoes, I developed fungus.

I tried many of these home remedies over 5+ years of having an infected toe. I finally had a podiatrist use a "Dremel" tool to grind down the infected part of the nail. That allows the topical nail fungal solution to penetrate deeper. I'm still waiting for my nail to fully grow out but I see no signs of fungus. Happy days!! Update: still battling 3 months later 😔

Toenail fungus is a tough one. I finally got it mostly cleared up after fighting it for about 30 years. I did foot baths with epsom salt, applied vicks vapor rub on it, used over the counter ointments, apple cider vinegar, etc. These helped but never completely cleared it up. I've been working from home since the pandemic so I wear sandals almost all the time now and I finally just gave in and took a prescription oral medicine terbanifine that my doctor prescribed. I had to take the terbanifine 3 months and after 2 months I broke out with a rash on my chest, stomach, and upper legs. It went away after stopping the prescription thankfully. I'm not diabetic, but my sugar level is usually on the high side of normal. Dr. Berg's videos are so helpful. I started eating jello most days based on one of his videos and after a week my knees and hips felt like they were completely renewed. I used to have joint pain in those areas and I feel great now and can walk for as long as I want to. I was addicted to diet soda and have given that up too. I believe that Dr Berg is correct in that the excess sugar in the body is the root cause of so many illnesses and health problems.

I had toenail fungus but didnt want to take any drugs especially those that affect the liver like Lamisil. So I resisted & instead tried natural remedies. Nothing worked. So after 8 years I finally gave in & took generic version of Lamisol- Terbinafine. After taking it for about 2 months I noticed it was affecting my vision. It was like someone turning the light switch on & off as fast as possible causing a flickering effect. I wanted so badly to get rid of the nail fungus I just kept taking it. After 3 months my nails didnt look any better so I asked the doctor to write me a script for an additional 3 more months. Six months total & it never got rid of my fungus. I REGRET ever taking this toxic drug. It affected my vision long after I stopped taking it. I called the drug Co to make a complaint. They really didn't care. I had flickering side effect for 2 years after I stopped taking Terbinafine. I thought it wld go away when I finished taking the drug. It also seemed to age my face- like under eye bags. Anyway, I found out later from my doctor that terbinafine only works on a small percentage of people with a certain TYPE of fungus & u should get a Nail Biopsy FIRST to make sure the fungus u have is that TYPE. Looking back I feel angry the doctor didn't tell me that first. No use crying over spilled milk but im def staying away from all drugs now on. I still haven't gotten rid of fungus. I'll have to try Dr Berg suggestion. If that doesn't work then its laser treatment.

Dr. B is right abt clear/white iodine. It works best for sure! I’d like to add that after soaking, the nail bed needs to be cleaned & dried thoroughly, then ‘lightly’ buffed with a very fine grit nail file or box file (is best) to allow the penetration of the clear/white iodine into the nail bed. Do this once a week as the nails grow & the fungus will go away. You’ll see clear nail growing in at the cuticle as the old fungal nail grows off. Just depends on how fast your nails grow.

I sort of did this treatment on my own, but with a different spin on why I did what. I clipped back the the toenail as far as I could to get rid of the part of the nail that was over the infected area of the nail bed, exposing the area with the fungus. I then stuck my toe in some hot water (hot enough to be slightly uncomfortable, but hot hot enough to burn me) and kept switching it out and adding hot water to it. Heat by itself kills fungus. After soaking my toe for around 15 minutes I scrubbed the area with a toothbrush for a minute, dried it and put on the povidone iodine. Did that daily for a week or two. The nail grew back healthy.

Another thing that helps is baking soda dissolved in hot water (about 100 g for 1 l of water) and wiping the spot with undiluted vinegar. I had much better results with those than with the iodine. Baking soda also gets rid of foul odours, so that's an added bonus.

The decolored iodine didn't help either one of us but I have read that water is what it thrives on. Keep toes dry. Sterilize the clippers & keep nails trimmed as short as possible (no overhang). I don't know HOW or WHERE I got the toe nail fungus on both my big toes. I'm 55 years old and got this recently for the first time. I am not diabetic as I get full blood work done every three months. Dr. Berg and everybody...I had chronic sinusitis congestion, asthma and COPD. The mucus and phlegm was horrible..it was like having glue in my throat 24/7. Tried EVERYTHING in the past and nothing worked. Following your advices, 5 months into keto, some intermitent fasting and eating/nasal garlic flush improve alot but the game changer was serrapeptase 240k SPU (3 times a day). First used only 240k SPU and noticed some improvement...but then I read the back of the bottle and it recommended a total of (3) 240k spu doses for therapeutic purposes. I increased the dosage and within a few day I starting to sleep better (in combination with my new $2500 tempurpedic mattress) and started to expectorate all the backed-up mucus even when I went to the bathroom. Within a week I got like a severe flu in which I coughed up all that nasty stuff but kept using serrapeptase, had to used antibiotics against my will but replenished good bacteria with kimchi juice. After I cured from this flu-like epidose which I think was a detox phase...I'm not that affected by allergies. Now I can sleep at least 6 hours everynight from the previous 1 or 2 hours. Whenever I want I can get rid of the mucus by coughing which was impossible before. It was the miracle I was asking God for years. Thanks for your advices...your a national treasure.

@@ratedrachel3670 Hi...Rated Rachel. Change to a keto diet (carbs and sugar close to zero). Do intermitent fasting (no food for at least 16 hours). Eat garlic and if possible do a garlic nasal rinse (Dr Berg has a video on it). But must importantly buy Serrapeptase enzyme 120,000 to 240,000 SPU (serrapeptase units). This is the most potent anti-inflamatory supplement with proven results. Take at least 240k but I saw the results taking 3 doses a day or 720k spu units until you lower inflamation then take 240k SPU daily to maintain.

This WORKED! I ordered a bag of epsom salt and the decolorized iodine from Amazon. Soaked my feet in the mixture of the epsom salt and hot water until the water turned cold, and applied the iodine. I did this 1-2 times a week for about 7/8 weeks and my toenails look almost completely back to normal! Mind you I did not have a super severe case-but it was bad enough I didn’t wear sandals unless I had my nails painted. The nails on my big toe were the most affected but it had started to spread to the rest of the nails, now it is almost completely gone! I wish I had a before and after but I was too embarrassed to take a picture of it. Some other things I did was: stopped painting my nails to expose the nail to fresh air and sunlight: I tried to expose my toes to as much sunlight as possible. Like sitting in the shade but with my feet in the sun whenever I’m outside, and I did use coconut oil on the nails sometimes if they looked too dried out and white looking, the oil would make it appear more healthy. I hope this helps someone it really helped me!

I grated garlic, put it in a cling film and wrap it around my toe. I was shocked by what i saw the next day. All the fungi had turned the garlic (was white) into green and the fungi was gone from the toe. I was very shocked!!! I continued for a few days and i am fungi free now. Garlic is powerful.

Oregano essential oil! Just do it before bed because if you put a sock and shoe on over it, it will burn! The oil saturates into your nail, just one drop. It had helped my family majorly! Also things that Dr Berg mentioned in the video! Great advice! You’re awesome Dr Berg!!

a drop or two of oregano oil directly on nail every single day, no need to dilute (if you can handle it). It will only be eradicated if the infected nail portion grows out completely. Dont try cutting out the infected portion if its deeper than what can be clipped off, as it will only spread infection and you will need to start all over. Oregano oil is so effective that thick fungus, which pushes the nail off the flesh, can be eradicated entirely, and the nail will grow in normally. It takes months for this to work so dont miss a day and be consistent. I have a lot of experience with this unfortunately. when excess oregano oil drips onto the skin, first dab it off with a dry paper towel, then use soapy water to wash the rest off. Dry the skin to ensure it's all removed, but keep the oil on the nail. reapply at least once daily.

Thank you Dr Berg for this video, so many videos on this subject talk about changing socks, moist environment etc etc. We know all of this! Anyone who has had this rotten condition for many years is an expert in this. You though have gone straight to the solution. Have just ordered my povidone iodine and am looking forward to trying this as well as cutting sugar etc. One question I have and I would be interested to know if others experience this also. I have had my foot and nail fungus for around 30 years now. Hyperhydrosis (excess sweating) doesn't help. However it is only on my right foot. If it's as contagious as Drs say it is, why has it not spread to my left foot? Also the second toenail on the right foot is healthy and the others are infected. It's strange and I would love to know the answer after all these years. Happy healing everyone.

Excellent advice Doc. I got a toenail fungus I picked up at the gym. My own fault, forgot flip-flops in the sauna, maybe that caused it. I do follow a healthy diet, I'm not diabetic so it was likely an external cause. Anyway I tried an over the counter preparation which only kept it in check, didn't cure it after quite an extended period of time. I then saw your previous video, tried povidon iodine without epson salts and it worked. In fact it worked so rapidly I was amazed and my thanks to you. I have totally normal nail growth. I think with the epson salts is a great idea for most cases. My fungus was possibly weakened somewhat by the over the counter stuff, and then your povidon plan killed it.

I finally got rid of the toenail fungus after several years of fighting it. Until I got to the bottom of it, nothing worked. Once I started anti candida supplements, anti-inflammatory(curcumin), probiotics and changed my diet I saw the improvement. On the top of things, I religiously soaked my feet in vinegar and Epsom salt, then filed the top layer, cut nails shot and scraped the debris that the fungus left under nails. Soaked it again and then applied Manuka or Oregano oil that I bought in the Natural Foods store. I am not diabetic but wearing high heels most of the time along with stress and getting old, probably, contributed to development of fungus.
