When I lived in my hometown, I had this friend who asked me to take him to this sketchy-ass bodega to sell his vape to some guys. I, trepidatious as heck, knew he’d do this deal regardless if I help him or not. So, this way I can insure he’s not knifed, therefore, I reluctantly agreed. He met the buyers through Facebook Marketplace, the deal was one used vape for one used MacBook. On the way there, my friend tells me “the vape is broken, shhh, I’ll just wrap the bag extra times so they won’t open it.” The deal went down and twenty minutes after I dropped him off at home, he calls me irate, screaming about how the MacBook doesn’t work and “what kind of inconsiderate asshole brings a broken item to a trade?!” The irony was not lost on me. It was lost on him though, he still gets upset that they ripped him off to this day.

I like your thought process, very irrational and morbid; just like my personality. Majority of the time it's duplicates from the baby shower or they received a hand me down and are able to get money back (diapers &food) for the new items instead of trying to sell the used versions (it's common knowledge kids keep growing and they will outgrow that jumper) typically still births and crib deaths are so tramautic families will donate things in bulk to get rid of the reminders of what happened(mothers want to hold them but it's unhealthy and makes it too hard to move forward) if it's sad it'll probably be a change table or crib custom made from a family member (can't return hand made)
