That boss has no sense of self preservation. He goes out of his way to try and blackmail someone sent there by the highest authority in the postal service industry. What did he think would happen when word got back to the postmaster general that he'd forced the woman he'd personally sent to quit? Everything that dude does screams that he hates his job yet he somehow rose through the ranks of the letter sending industry to run a whole...whatever he was doing. @@swine13 , in my experience, it's less of an internet thing and more of a being raised by a survivor thing. [CW: child sexual abuse] My mom grew up being sexually abused at a time when the prevailing attitude was to leave families to themselves and not look behind closed doors. So growing up as a kid in the 90s, before we had a home computer or internet, she would tell me stuff like, "Don't get into an elevator alone with a man you don't know, but, if you can't avoid it, position yourself in front of the buttons so you can call for help if you need to." She also used Ted Bundy as a cautionary tale, although I didn't know it at the time. I just remember her telling me a story about a man who pretended his arm was broken so he could ask young women for help, because he knew good people liked to be helpful. But he was only using it as a trick to get them close enough to hurt them. I think you only need to look at the #MeToo movement to see that it might not be people freaking out and thinking there's more sexual abuse than there is, but actually people acknowledging that sexual abuse, of minors and other people groups, is a massive problem and it is SMART to take steps to prevent it.

As someone who worked for the postal service for a month (not recommended) I feel at least a little qualified to point out some mail absurdities. 1.) Matt the Mailman should definitely have a mail truck if he's on a park and loop route. 2.) Unless there was a scheduled parcel pickup, Matt the mailman should definitely not be taking parcels. Those parcels should have been taken by the sender to a Post Office to be screened by a clerk. 3.) As someone else in the comments pointed out, Christy is committing a federal crime by opening mail 4.) No goshdamn way Matt or Sally have as much in-office, on-route, or off-work free time as we are meant to believe, ESPECIALLY DURING HOLIDAY SEASON. 5.) You'd get reamed if you rode your bike into the USPS station, people and hampers and carts everywhere. 6.) Richard suggesting they throw away first class mail is hugely illegal 7.) No way in hell the POSTMASTER GENERAL would implement a Santa letter answering division", or answer Sally's email. He's too busy making dumb decisions. 8.) Matt gets promoted to Postmaster of the Branch and immediately leaves on tour for an undisclosed amount of time, during Christmas? With no advance notice or filling out of forms? I smell bullshit

Holy shit I noticed even more mail goofs on this last viewing of this video: 9) Matt is unable to deliver mail with his hands full of parcels, or scan them (he doesn't even have a scanner, whatta dumbass) if only he had a truck to put them in 10) Matt isn't following Dog Safety guidelines by a) not having a free hand b) not having a shoulder bag to use as a "dog bite shield" AND c) not having dog mace in an easy to reach spot 11) the letters on Christy's desk aren't postmarked (the squiggly ink lines over the stamp), which is what makes the stamp invalid for future use, and what gets them through mail sorting 12) NO ONE HAS SECURITY BADGES. EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE REPRIMANDED FOR LETTING EVERYONE ELSE IN 13) Matt needs to be fired for going AWOL during his lunch. This is the most ass-backward, dysfunctional, inefficient mail station I've ever seen. What a beautiful shitshow.

14:45 - This is honestly one of the things that does make sense in this movie since she's like Santa's daughter, and she replies to all the mails, it makes sense that she would know basically every language within the Santa lore, at least. So the twist wasn't too unexpected but the fact that it existed to begin with is a mystery in and of itself.

Matt is so talented at the guitar that he plays five different instruments at the same time and doesn't even need too hit different notes. no wonders he got the award four years in a row.

So we're just all not gonna talk about how the only black actor was clearly directed to "black it up a little more" for every word she spoke? For sure, someone gave her the note "you don't sound black enough, BE blacker" like, more than one time in this movie. For sure.
