We (D/HoH YT users) signed petitions and protested the decision, but YT held that "not enough people use it." I strongly believe that access to information is a human right and that all information should be accessible to people regardless of ability/disability, so I stan creators like Drew Gooden who include captions rather than just auto-gen captions. Or Danny Gonzalez who gives warnings for flashing lights / photosensitivity and trigger warnings for psychologically distressing content. They are true allies to the deaf and disabled.
