Great work. I'm about to plug a ring finger on a 20 year old Storm El Nino just to try this. My ring finger has lost strength and right side of my hand and I think this grip will relax my ring, and theory is I will be more behind the ball without turning too early and hopefully will increase loss of speed. If this doesn't work then I may go full blown conventional.

“Do not rush this part” I learned the hard way what happens if you rush this part 🤦 luckily it was my own ball and not a customers

Why did you choose this layout versus your usual 60X5X20?

@brunsnick Since coming back from a 5 year break, bowling has been an expensive lesson so far, the USBC side weight rule has had negative effects on me, I'm a 3.5 and 1up PAP, me and positive side don't get along.

I knew the bowling so forgive my question if it's dumb. But why are the finger holes misaligned?
@igoramaral954 жыл бұрын
I'm possibly changing to Sarge Easter right after quarantine ends. Just noticed you use extreme reverse pitch on the ring finger. Is it important? 3/4 seems like a ton but probably necessary to get a clean release on the ball (considering you already use some forward pitch on the thumb).
@brunsnick4 жыл бұрын
Very necessary to use reverse pitch in the ring finger. For shorter spans you don’t need as much, but should never be any less than 1/4 reverse. The other important thing is not to make the bridge cut lines too wide. 3/16” optimal, 1/4” max in conjunction with at least 1/2” right for right handers.

Nick, with the elimination of balance holes next year, how can the RICO layout live on after the rule change?
@brunsnick4 жыл бұрын
Simple. It won’t. RIP August 1, 2020.

@@brunsnick that's unfortunate. I was hoping perhaps one of the gripping holes could be drilled deeper to bring the offset back within the new spec. Your older videos helped me discover that layout and it's been a great one for me to use over the years. RIP indeed. Gone But Not Forgotten 😭

@@brunsnick Will an asymmetrical ball work , just put the psa where the hole is on a symmetrical ball? just wondering if it will have the same motion.

It won’t work the same. Need the extra hole to take out the mass and change the dynamics.

What is the advantage to having the Sarge Easter grip? I've only learned about it recently
@brunsnick4 жыл бұрын
For me, less grip pressure. I had a hand injury years ago and switched to the grip with immediate results.

I thought about that grip because I was thinking it might give me more control but I see you did it for less strain on your ring finger. I have heard that you get less rotation but you look like you get plenty rotation. What do you think Nick

Yes I did it for pain management. It’s just comfortable for me. Not sure how it’ll do for anyone else but try it on an old ball.

I did a long time ago. I just use one thumb, and I love tape.
