I bought . I expect that he's super but I was in shock! It was even better than I could have imagined!!!))) this is a drone from the modules that can be used separately and this is a huge difference from the others and a big plus. I don't have to carry a lot of cameras with me. This is essentially a camera and as a gift to her you get a drone and can buy a remote separately and shoot with your hands! That's brilliant. in addition, the suspension is universal and can be easily used drone with Gopro

Thanks for the review and video. I'm getting fed up with DJI's "total control'' firmware updates too. Glad to see there are other very competitive and capable drones out there. Good flight time, 4k camera/gimbal, good range at a reasonable price too.

sut2910 I agree with you on the update my first drone I got I did the update on it after flying it a few weeks and it never flew again took the drum back and swapped it for another one have had it a little over two years now and have not updated anything and it still flies great I cannot recommend that anyone would update the firmware unless it is absolutely necessary these updates do nothing but make having the Drone a miserable experience if you can ever get it to fly again after the update a lot of the places you flew before it won't let you flying now so just forget about the updates

The biggest problem with DJI is that they insist on regular software updates where they add flight restrictions to different areas and they threaten to ground users who don't update. This is normally ok but the last update in July mashed the brain of my Phantom 3 Advanced. Everything, even the gimbal, was still functional but it refused to fly so I had to send it back to DJI for repair. They spotted that I had added a gimbal guard to the camera so they blamed that for the software crash, claiming that the software detected the extra part. Total nonsense of course, but it meant that I would have to pay £300 for a new camera in order to get it working again. It just shows how much contempt DJI have for their customers in contrast to what you have said about Mi. Needless to say, I'm done with DJI now and will be scrapping my Phantom 3 Advanced for parts, so will probably buy a Mi 4K because it looks really impressive.

A very honest review, i apreciate it. I Have this drone for about 6 monts and is working better than new (after several updates). I think it is one of the best drones for the price. I think xiaomi is moving in the right direccion with this quality and features for this excellent price. In my oppinion this is a great alternative if you don't have a lot of money to expend in a DJI without sacrifing quality (only features). I hope xiaomi become a competitor of DJI for the good of customers. I'm subscribing this chanel BTW.

The problem is, should Xiaomi become any where near as good a DJI, you can bet they'll be charging similar prices. Too many Quadcopter manufacturers start off being less expensive and once the become really popular they tend to forget why they were so popular, (because of their price) and start bumping their prices up. In fact some of them purposely sell their quads off at cost just to get their name known. There are a few on the market at the moment who may be headed that way. Check out the Aosenma and see what you get for your money. It's such a good quad considering the features, quality and price, they have to be cutting profits to the bone. Actually that's why I now own 3 of them. I'm betting the next model will have a much higher price. Unless the company is a subsidiary of Santa Claus Pty Ltd.

@@propfella but you do not get it from the business side. to get known and start selling stuff, you have to get prices down, sometimes barely to break even. you spend capital in development, production, advertising/marketing and then on top of that you may go under cost price just to get on the market. when you get base customers, then you start to raise prices for you to pay back your investments and finally, to earn cash. if lucky, you can get on the top of the game fast so transition from marketing prices to retail/profitable one will be quick with next model and no complaints like this will occur. but most of the time, product will sink and end its production. best thing will be if you start some company and produce something for market. then tell us how it goes...

My initial choice was the dji mavic, but due to budget constraints I purchased the Xiaomi MI 4k. I will admit it outperformed better than I expected after having it for 10 months now. In the beginning I had to find an english Interface for my phone but eventually they brought out an english official phone app. The updates improved over time and my only request from xiaomi would be more adjustments for the camera and a follow me feature. With that being said this drone has given me full return on investment and more. Flight is also extremely stable and reliable. I was able to also transport easily from airport to airport since it folds flat, definitely not as portable as the mavic or spark but i believe this is probably 3rd place in portability compared to others.

Cool stuff mate. Wondering, is there an option to use the app in a VR goggle for a more immersive experience? Also is there a flatter profile for the video? Only thing stopping me from getting the phantom is the size. I love the fact that the gimbal is easily removable and that the drone folds down for storage.

Great Video. I can only recommend this drone. Superb budget alternative. I try to achieve cinematic results with mine and it performs very well. Sure it still has to get some crucial manual settings like Shutter-Speed and ISO options but it is getting better with each major update. And for normal use great image quality.

Thanks for the comprehensive review, like the other guys on here I'm very happy with mine, it's far exceeded my initial expectations. Originally I looked at the DJI's but at that stage I wasn't sure just how often I'd use it, so I opted for the cheaper alternative. I use mine alot now and much of the time its over water and it hasn't let me down once - well yes it can't have. or it would be in the Pacific somewhere never to return ..... . With the more recent firmware and software updates it's just getting better however it's still lacking a follow me function and smart reverse path return - no deal breakers for me though and they may eventuate. Range on these things is pretty incredible with a number incl myself going over 4Kms without issue a couple over 6ms (with early firmware). Unlike most they are using the 5Ghx band entirely for both TX and RX plus VTX (not 2.4 like the older models). I'm currently thinking that this alongside a Mavic (and my Awesome F100) would be pretty solid team - the Mavic just for its portability and stealth factor when working abroad and the F100 to make me realise how hopeless I am without GPS and everything else :)

Hello! Nice video! I have a mi drone too and it’s a year old now, the battery which came with it started over discharging after exactly 6 months and 30 cycles of use, it would go from 90% to 0% in a second so I went and bought another one. This second battery was fine until like before, 6 months passed. It has only been through 29 cycles and as soon as it drops below 30% the cell 3 difference is high which makes it over discharge but until it gets down to 30% it runs fine. Do you have the same issue? What can I do about it, hope you don’t mind, thanks!

+ISLANDTECH PTX inhad the gimbal a little high. It was above 0 degrees. Tilt down a tiny bit to not see the props. I just couldn’t see it in my phones view.

Used to fly RC helicopter for years with an Futaba FC-28, both transmitters look very weak and toylike for my eyes. It is end 2018 now, and i seriously wonder if the gimbal is still available. My experience with budget stuff is that when the new model comes out, you hardly can get any replacement parts and have to buy the newest model. If thats the case your whole "hammering" on that replacement gimbal is out of the question. The DJI's can be replaced too, it take some some time and skills to do.

Update: Hi Justin, and everyone else. After few short training flights, I must say this is one great quad copter. I had no problems with the gimbal, flight is very tight and controllable. One thing I can say is you can take off on top of empty cardboard box, but when you try to land back on it and the box flaps or moves underneath your landing drone because of spinning propellers ...it won't land lol. Guessing same thing will happen above water. Sensors do work beautifully. I uploaded short compilation video of my flight, if you guys would like to see it in action. It's awesome, and just works. Hi guys. Just received my 4K Xiaomi Mi drone. My manual came in English, for those who worry about it. Will start testing it in few days.

I've been monitoring the prices on GearBest for about 1 month. If I choose the US Plug the price shoots over $500 or even $600. If I choose CN plug price is varying $399 to $459. Im so DONE with my x16 drones..they so don't live up to what they say they can do, great if you like crash footage,so thankful I didnt mount my YI-4K cam to that turkey..like the phone app that you can use a direct cord plug in and the apps and phone holder look great+ digging on the controller size...

Yeah I hear you on that one. This is a major upgrade for not much more. And still under $400 isnt too bad for a 4k drone.
