I always thought of it as a poor mans carolina rig. Been using it for most of my life lol. Extremely effective very adjustable. I some times put it 2 feet from the bait. Gets the lure down but out of the gunk on the bottom of my river.

You could do either. Mono will float better for the leader line.

I've been fishing a mojo rig for many years, and have done really well with it, but now I'd like to get more finessey with it by using even less weight than the 1/4 oz. I normally use. I'm a bit concerned that the ears on them removable split shot will cause hangups that a smaller 1/16 oz, or 1/8 oz mojo weight would likely avoid, and also crimping those things clearly can damage/weaken your line especially if using 8# or less. You did a nice job on this video. I like that trick worm you were using in the video - I'm guessing might have been watermelon magic or watermelon gold - I'd like to try it, but I usually throw green pumpkin or any variety of it, like with purple, or red, or even blue can trigger them. I haven't found a mojo style weight less than 1/16th but I'll keep looking. Do you use a medium spinning rod or a medium light? I use a M with the 1/4 oz., but I'm guessing 1/16 or lighter you'd have to go with a ML just to get any real distance on the cast....
