He is a great player- sort of established a signature style. I think all or most of the drummers you react to also have carved out a style and a "voice " to communicate their ideas and delivery. What sets him apart in my opinion is their is nothing lost in translation and its obvious and so relatable- nearly impossible to duplicate- but nevertheless relatable to the Average drummer or non drumming viewers that may not understand the subtle nuances and other techniques that are typically only recognized by someone (like you) with a in depth knowledge of drumming. He is also so very very entertaining!! He has captured what I think the average person considers a "modern drummer". Fast, precise, talented and doing all so effortlessly. I think he will inspire alot of young players and glad the drum community has discovered him.

Repetitive motion and muscle memory are what do the trick. That, and BALANCE. you need to practice everything equal and opposite. What you do on your right hand, do on your left foot, then rotated it to all positions equally. Once you have balanced muscle memory, you can focus on increasing speed. He also has studied many techniques in order to be able to play super fast consistent singles, on literally any limb, at any time.

I really do enjoy hearing your Perspectives, theories, philosophy AND advice etc. not just during the performance, but in your post performance discussion as well. Im always interested to hear more of what you have to say post performance but you often end at that point. Which is fine too, i quite enjoy your channel. Also, i do like hearing your immediate post performance passion as opposed to editing it out (kind of like a post game interview when the athlete is still running on some emotions, thats when you get the good stuff, the raw emotion). Even if you feel you ramble or stumble for proper wording or whatever, it would be great to sometimes leave the raw post performance emotion in the video, ramblings and all. In addition, i quite enjoy your extended post performance discussions. I think a lot of your subscribers would like to hear more of your in depth thoughts (although some dont like the performance interrupted, as where i prefer your interjections..i assumed your subscribers are here to see what you have to say) but for sure after the performance. Oh and btw thank you for introducing me to el esteparios channel last year!!

The observation that its "just not a speed element, but a musicality element" is spot on. ANd its what makes him as great as he is. Clearly just playing the drums at warp drive isnt going to produce the visceral results this guy can generate. Hes truly the most magnificent speed drummer Ive ever seen, and the reason why is, he can make it notably musical as well. Hes not simply riffing at warp drive, hes adding something new and creative to the song and its all the more spectacular given the sound produced can only be achieved with an incredibly accurate high speed method that I personally havnt seen reproduced at this level before. Its clean, tight and wicked fast in the extreme, and its also musically competent. BUT, (theres always a but), this takes me back to my earlier days of exploring rock music when my tastes were almost evenly split between progressive rock and Heavy Metal, with some leaning into speed metal as my favorites. And the critical thing that brings me to this point is I recall the rather thrilling feeling in 1980 of listening to Fast Eddie Clark on Motorheads Ace of Spades album and literally thrilling to the literal speed of the guitar playing that also tended to led a musicality to the songs in some very interesting ways I had never experienced with any regularity at that speed. This really felt different and exceptional and it raised the eye brows of several of my musician friends who also loved it. We literally debated frequently the over al quality of numerous guitarists, and Fast Eddie was often raised in those debates because he was both fast, and had the ability to still somehow add some musicality. It was new, and exciting to us, despite the fact Motorhead as we found out already had some history prior to Ace of Spades. BUT, at the end of the day, once we had totally become more familiar with the style, the speed, from a few different guitarists in speed metal, and what it could and could not do on a track, we better began to properly analyze its limitations and benefits that wild speed brough to a song. And the end result was, there were indeed significant limitations in its ability to express broad musicality and similarly limitations to produce notably very significantly different soundscapes to the songs. It had some decent musicality, but the depth and breadth was naturally limited to some notable degrees because of the sheer frequency of the rapid fire notes played. After listening to the general style many times, it became apparent that while initially very thrilling and sort of breath taking to hear, it wasnt exactly the most expressive or meaningful guitar playing over all by any stretch. I can definitely say as a massive drumming fan who regularly can listen to most records and concentrate on specific instruments through out to really grasp the recording, that when I listen to this drumming it strikes me EXACTLY the very same way listening to Fast Eddie playing guitar did. Yes, absolutely breath taking. SO spectacular for what it is, you cannot help but bow and tip your hat to this kind of truly phenomenal skill. And it cannot be spoken of with enough compliments to say how fantastic it is to have a drummer who can play like this around. We deserve it, and hes simply exceptional at what he does. PERIOD. But its limited. Its limited by its very spectacular nature. Of course, it for any reason, its the style one really thrives on, this guy IS your man. But if you must have more variation, and even more musical expressiveness and more versatile stylings and over all unpredictability, this isnt your guy. But, make no error here. What this guy does is simply otherworldly for what he does. And Im truly glad he exists. Hes wonderful to listen to and watch.
